logically, they would have already known about the existence of the breathe of archangel card, considering they had planned to use a few of them afterwards. so gon going all out knowing he's going to be fixed pretty much immediately after really isn't all that insane. it's actually the optimal time to experiment

Remember, restrictions and conditions are a big part of nen, particularly of very strong and hard to counter abilities. And in this case two of the conditions are that Genthru has to explain how his power works to arm the bomb and that he has to touch the person and say "Bomber" to set the bomb in first place. Another restriction is that people can disarm the bomb by touching him and saying "I caught the Bomber". That number of conditions and restrictions explains why the ability is so powerful and, even moreso, why it is next to impossible to counter without catching Genthru oder having a Nen exorcist.

It's almost like Hisoka's battle with Castro. He gave up hands as if they were nothing and unnerved his opponent so much it threw them off and made them hesitate. That's why people sometimes say Gon and Hisoka are kind of similar, they're both single minded and practically insane when pursuing the win.

@@lockeforeer Eh, I mean, it's slightly similar. Gon did it because he had to if he wanted to deliver a strong kick. Hisoka deliberately gave it up without needing to with the intention of dealing psychological damage. The psychological damage caused by Gon actions weren't his intention when performing them. So Hisoka had more thought behind this whereas for Gon it was just a consequence he was willing to accept. What they share is a certain level of insanity, that much is true.

You can call it cheap but that's how nen battles are... its constant with people trying to one up each other.. this ain't no Dragon ball. I actually think it was very smart from Genthru to exploit Gon's naivete. There's no fair fights in HxH. Kurapika vs Uvo wasn't even fair. Kurapika researched and Planned for Uvo and Uvogin didn't even know he existed, Kurapika vs Uvo was an assassination and that's what set the stage for future of HxH fights.

Even with prep time Kurapika only won because his chains are op against phantom troupe, it sucks someone as strong as Uvo died because of a cheap concept like the restriction thing, I think most characters in the show would lose to Uvo.

As i said it set the stage that even being powerful doesn't grant you a win when it comes to Nen. You could always die if you're careless.

Being pure doesn’t mean you can’t be selfish in some ways. It’s not necessarily a bad trait. When he decides to do things against what they planned in this arc and the next arc for SURE. It selfishness. Even when he was fighting Knuckle and got called out. He’s not a bad character. He’s a talented kid who fights to protect his friends and have a bit of demon inside lol He’s still selfish for some of his actions in the show.

Hunters are above civilian laws unless it threatens the peace on a large scale. It was mentioned since the start that hunters can kill people and get away with it and Genthru didn't even kill civilians just other hunters who willingly joined the game and thus agreed to risk their lives. Honestly, I don't even see him as a bad guy compared to the likes of Hisoka and the troupes.

the hunter exam didnt require killing either but if you killed someone during it when it was allowed you wouldnt be punished. this game has pretty much the same rules and is even more fair considering you have to know nen to play
