Cool man! I tend to think of the arcs, stories, and characters rather than battles, usually. This just came to my attention now and it was definitely intriguing. Especially impressive for your first video. :)

Gon vs Hanzo is one of my favourite fights. You depicted it and the topic of one sided battles efficiency, very nicely. Edit : you couldve also touched upon how uvogins fight sets him and all of the phantom troupe as extremely scary rivals to kurapika and just makes his mission seem impossible until he kills uvo

Subbed. Looking forward to see what you do in the future. This was not a topic I've given much thought to except a little when I was catching up on DB Super. Great job.

Thank you so much, you're actually a big inspiration for me making these videos so that means a lot! Your Gon and Meruem comparison video is one of the gold standards of HxH videos in my opinion

I think even Youpi's fight showcased this even better than the rest. The hunters were clearly weaker and had no chance but it was still an amazing fight. they didn't beat him in the end or even got close, but he also couldn't beat them.

Great video! I'm happy to be one your first subscribers. I'd love to see more like this because I love analytical critiques. I'd even love to see examples of other series/scenes attempting to pull off the same approaches, but where they may fall short/fail in comparison.

you should of used the battle with envy and mustang, but one sided battles are things needed imo, some characters are at their most interesting, like vegeta, some of his best fights(not moments bc i think we can all agree his best moments towards end of Z were not nearly him on the one handed slap side of things) are him ruthlessly crushing his opponents.And again, some times needed to show how strong the villain is, and how strong the MC's are after defeating them.And my honest example of this, is ichigo and ulquiora(sorry for spelling butchers) or grimjow and ichigo at their first encounter.

Hey man I've been watching this and the Edward Elric video. Both HxH and FMA are my favorites anime. And you managed to tell very well their features. Have you watched Rurouni Kenshin? I think its battles are also this good and its protagonist pretty unique.

It was good I subbed I liked it maybe next time explore how nen is used in fights to show how unique hxh is

Yeah, I wanted to but at the same time, I wanted to not ruin the fight itself by delving into every detail. That's why I blocked the subtitles too, I want there to be a lot left for people to see after I've used enough material to make my point. I may be too anti-spoiler for my own good

Excellent analysis, convinced me to rewatch the show. Forgot how HxH is just the best at catching your attention with things that are laughable if they were done any different. Can't wait for more!

Ok, a really good video you earned my subscription. I see this is your first video so here are some ways I think you could improve. In the beginning you spent too much time giving examples of battles in different mediums. You would do better if you cut down the opening statement to about the 00:30 mark and instead enter your three points here of how Hunter x Hunter excels over other shows using a powerpoint slide that lists the points you will highlight in your video to help the audience understand the structure. Your 3 points were Variety, Depth and Unpredictability for each point you could use different examples for comparison like the Fairy tail fight or the FMA fight to help emphasize your point and give people a reference point as to why and where HxH beats out other shows. The first fight analysis was good to the point where there isn't much to say other than it was really interesting and I'm glad you made a video highlighting that fight in particular. The second fight was a good analysis but a good way to show that the fight was truly one-sided would have been to point out the phantom troupe's reaction or in this case lack of reaction to one of their members being faced in a 1v4 against the shadow beasts really displaying to the audience the difference in power level between the two groups. Honestly the third fight was also well done and I am glad you chose that one because it illustrated that even in HxH the stronger one doesn't always win and you should of highlighted this is the variety you were talking about at the beginning of the video. One thing you should have also talked about is how Netero from the very outset already knew he was going to win (even if he dies) and how it gives the whole fight a really different meaning after a second viewing. It was a good video that really shows your special insight into the series that made me also think about it in a new way. Most of your problems stem from organization (you made the point to talk about 3 ways HxH one-sided fights excel but don't spend time to prove your points coherently, I mean they are there but you should of highlighted them more) but seeing as this is your first video this is alot better than could be expected. I am really looking forward to what you have give us next. Good luck man.

Sorry for the late reply! I see where you're coming from and I think my next video that I'm uploading today improves on a lot of that, even though the format is different. I really appreciate this long and well thought out criticism and even though I didn't see this till after I finished my current video, I hope my next ones can really improve on those issues you pointed out.

I don't going the Roy and Lust fight to be one sided, I mean sure he seemed the must epic Badass ever at the moment but Roy WAS dying, he had to be taken to the hospital immediately if I remember correctly
@TheLostChapter7 жыл бұрын
Definitely a fair point, I guess I view the fight as in two stages, the first stage is Roy being injured by Lust and critically wounded, I'd barely call that part a fight, but it's the reaction from Roy that I think makes it one sided. Once he begins his retaliation, where he's going all out, fueled by rage, Lust can't even move towards him, Roy is just too quick for her to react. That's what makes it one sided to me, is the end result, Roy destroyed her at the end without any resistance from Lust. Sorry about the late reply, I only ever sign into this account when I'm posting videos, hopefully this comment at least explains my perspective
