OMG, I was there. It was a concert at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (there was also one at Sydney Oval at the same time) that was put on to raise money for the victims of the Black Saturday Bushfires. I flew over from Perth (3500km) and spent the weekend. It was so incredible. So many legendary bands played. Midnight Oil reformed for this concert and it was sublime. Thanks for bringing back all these memories for me.

Ok by now you must realise that Australians are very passionate about their music and rightly very proud. There is SO much iconic music that has been created by so many fabulous talented artists that people around the world are not aware of. A lot of the music you are recommended to react to is from when the world was bigger as there was either no internet or it was fledgling. This is an example of the music we grew up with and it’s all so iconic. We all bought into music from US & UK etc but we also have intense passion for music that is ours!!! I hope you are getting the idea that this convict island is a marvellous place to live and music created here that we get to watch live is just one part of the magic. Oh and I just want to say that I find your channel awesome and watch as much of your content that I can. Sadly you will probs never see this comment as you guys are so busy and so many comments on so many vids.

The original studio version was moe uptempo and Mark Seymour's voice, in the 1980s, was smoother. It has so much more character, now he's older. During the Crowded House Farewell show in 1996, C.H. performed the chorus a couple of times and had the audience singing along, in complete tears. The C.H. bassist, Nick, is brother to Mark Seymour, writer and lead vocals for Hunters and Collecters.

My favourite Australian band of all time, they were the best. Saw them every time they played here in New Zealand from 1982 -98,and New Zealand was also their biggest market as well, having the most hits here. But "Throw Your Arms Around Me" was often considered the greatest love song of the 80s down under. This version is totally different than the original, but that's not a bad thing,as this is truly a sing along anthem as seen here. If you think this is typical of what Hunters and Collectors sound is all about,it couldn't be further removed from their earlier industrial sound (which I preferred) especially classics like "Talking To A Stranger","Run Run Run","The Slab","Lumps Of Lead".

So cool to see people just enjoying show, really experiencing it without trying to film it on phones, really hate phones at concerts, back in antient times Many Big Bands had a no Camera Rule, would love same rule for phones. You do not need film whole concert just to prove you were there. We just kept ticket popped it in Photo Album.

Australias greatest live band. saw them many time in the early 80s. used to drive Mark Seymour (the lead singer)nuts, with drunken shouts of The Slab! The Slab! but he'd play along for laughs. Then eventually play it for us. Wonderful times, we'll never hear again :( they tried to crack the international market but failed, sadly. try their earlier stuff for some amazing sounds!

Hey guys, these guys kept us going on the rock scene when things were looking glum, with all the techno, rap and karaoke scene, seemed it would never end in the late 80's and through the 90's.
