I still reckon it’s Australia’s best love song, so passionate - I prefer this version to all the other live versions because the sound is better on this one, and he uses his voice more expressively. I love the original recording too and would gladly stand in the audience on one leg every night of the year just to hear Mark and H&G perform this song. 💖🌟☮️

Have seen H&C so many times live... this was always the best part of the night for me. Having the whole venue, no matter how big or small, join Mark and the boys in the choruses was just mint. Another track that most of we Aussies were raised on at some point of our lives.

Mark Seymour is the brother of Nick Seymour, bass player in Crowded House. There's a version of CH singing this with Jimmy Barnes at an Aid For Ethiopia concert kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5XbiZx7aMR0fqc Kate Ceberano (you've reacted to her a few times) was being interviewed by Denton when she was pregnant and she mentioned how she sings to her unborn child. He asked for an example and she sang a verse and chorus of Throw Your Arms to her baby, very beautiful moment.. And the version that Eddie Vedder songs with Mark Seymour, on the day that the two had just met is pretty amazing

This is the same guy that you reacted to about two weeks ago at the Football half-time on the massive oval - Holy Grail. It's the band's song but he wrote it and is performing it in a very stripped back acoustic style as a solo act here, rather than with the 'original' band which was more Electro. It's been covered by many, but not many come close to Mark's rock/folk rasp.

Mark has the ability to be really RAW in his vocals. He has been performing for 40+ years and wasn't always a great singer (Melbourne indie scene was so great in the 80s), but he has always carried across emotion and passion. I have seen him live more times than almost any other performer, in both pubs and huge outdoor arenas and he never disappoints. He is an absolute legend in Australian music, and a really lovely man to boot

This guy may have one of those once in a life time voices where you hear it without musical accompaniment and wonder how it could ever sound any good, and then you hear him with his band behind him, and it just works. And just as important, it is magic to aussie ears, because it has a real aussie richness about it that we just tend to appreciate. However, this is Mark's real rabbit out of the hat, He has more musical talent in his little finger than you will find in one in fifty successful artists, and further to that, he has a vision. He really is deserving of hall of fame status. I would urge to find the duet of this song that he does live with Eddie Vedder as a live performance (The one in which Eddie meets Mark for the very first time) and watch that. They really work well together.

Saw the Hunnas live last Saturday night in the 'Rat. Mark's voice is strong and clear again and the band is just working. Is there a better live song than "Do You See What I See?" An Aussie here and yes Paul Seymour and Hunters and Collectors do rate high here for Aussie singers/bands. This was a very toned down version of the song other versions of this have more belting in it and a lot more rasp. This song is actually about (at surface level) a one night stand. But it became a lot of things to a lot of ppl. A love so deep but you know it’s not going to work for one reason or another, a couple where one is ill, being so in love and so scared to lose it. The lyrics ended up cutting deeper for so many ppl. Amazing song, amazing band, amazing singer, amazing reaction!!

Brother One thing you have to remember is Mark is in my age group and heading towards 60yrs old I am 57 and Sing to the neighbors with Half my street yelling more turn it up while the other half slam down their windows lol, from 15 to 20 I could do MJs Off the Wall Album and by 35 I reached my peak because of work ( Coal Dust ), Smoking and Singing my guts out and I lost half of what I could sing but even today can belt a hardcore song if I sing it first But that will be my only song sung that night. I can sing this song and quite a few Mark Seymour songs and Johnny Diesel songs and I can sit and sing along jamming Modern and older easy-listening songs all night, Mark should start off with this song then do Holy Grail then 5 easier songs, and then SLIP OUT THE BACK DOOR to a party lol, John Farnham is 72 now and could still go if not for throat Cancer and Jimmy Barnes and Johnny Diesel will scream until 100 like the Rolling Stones, Jimmy, and Diesel ( Brother-in-laws ) are a little older than Me and James Reyne from Australian Crawl is about 8 years older, So Brother time is a limiter for most and Most know when to Quit unless its Rap then you can Spit that Shit till your 110 though maybe no one will understand anything they're Spitting out,,, HEY Snoop Ya got to get Home Brother ya missus needs her wheely Walker LOL Just playing my Man PS I was just a Wine Bar piano Man sort of guy and started my run 10yrs late.

I said on one of your other videos, Mark Seymour is the brother of Nick Seymour, Crowded Houses' bass player. I had the honour of seeing Crowded House cover this at a big old ice-rink turned music venue (called The Venue...it was the last gig there before they knocked it down). My late wife had seen Mark up in the gallery earlier in the Crowded House gig. Sure enough, Neil Finn did the first verse, and then Mark hit the stage and took over vocal duties from Neil Finn, and did half the song with his arm around his brother's shoulders. Did the crowd go wild when he hit the stage? Let's just say the Crowded House and Hunters and Collectors fan bass is about a 95% overlap. You almost couldn't hear the music for the crowd roaring.

You gotta listen to the original Hunters & Collectors version! This is the voice of a heavy smoker, his voice used to be a lot lower and smoother. He still sounds amazing, but very different to when he was younger. Also this acoustic version is beautiful but lacks the final segment of about five overlapping harmonies and parts, which is probably the reason it's a 'everyone yells this song in the pub while drunk' classic
