Rabbit Control With Pard NV007 FX Crown And H&N Slugs

A local farmer phoned me asking if i could help with a rabbit problem on a recently sowed barley field as the rabbits were eating the barley around the fields edges quicker than it could grow.
Here in Northern Ireland rabbits are on our general licence as they are considered an agricultural pest and can be controlled all year round, this was done here with the use of a legally held air rifle on land that i have permission to do so on in a legal and humane manner as not to prolong or glorify the death of the animal.

Great informative video. I'm still not sure about the practicality of dialing in the dark. It takes time and attracts attention to me if I need to use any lights. I think I'll do better use hold over/under. Considering the 007SP LRF if the LRF will work past my scope turret. Not cheap though. I hunt on foot rather than on butt! Lots of ground to cover.

The mildot reticle on that Bushnel scope isn't the best for airgun hold over and under but a more suitable reticle would be better and faster than dialling in the dark.

@@williammclelland6323 for me its illegal to hunt or do pest controle where I live sadly But I have done my fair share at a farm in England owned by family. I learned how to skin rabbits when I was like 6 or 7 as part of a family with a long hunting history🤣

Nice shooting, what batteries do you use in your pard. Iv'e got ultra fire 4900mhh but they don't seem to last long.

I've mostly been using the battery's that were supplied with the Pard NV007 but recently started using some Uniross Supreme Energy 2500 MAH 3.6V Rechargeable Lithium Battery's that i got from the airgun101 shop which seem to work well in the unit.

I don't know the exact model but it is a very early Pard NV007 with a 16mm lens.

Yes the FX Crown has a two stage trigger which has a noticeable stop before it breaks.

I'd have to say that i'd still go for NV007 though i do like the look of the new shorter unit which would help with eye relief, as i have more than one rifle i want to use at night whether it be for rabbiting ratting or foxes and with the 008 i'd have to swap it from one gun to the next then confirm the zero but i don't have to do that with the NV007.
