I bet you're right. Solid detective work. I have one of the Huntertown C9s they made RIGHT before they went out of business and the baffles are loose on the inside. You can heard them rattle. Probably for the same reason. It works fine, but it destroys accuracy.

I have one of these that doesn't have the grooves in the body, for one it looks nice but it's also pretty solid. I've had no issue with it

I'm not too unhappy with mine, for what it is. Love being able to use it on my .22s and my ARs.
