The Echelon is a great shooting gun even without a comp. It has a low bore axis and a decent trigger out of the box. I wish I had waited a bit, but I don’t shoot it enough to justify buying the comped version. I agree that Canik has the best trigger. My trigger gauge has an average of 2.75 lbs with a nice short reset. The PDP has a similar trigger to the PPQ which is one of the best stock striker fired trigger. I also agree that the Sig trigger is NOT the best. I don’t like the longer pull after the wall. It isn’t crisp at all. Great video. Thanks!

Man I wish I saw this review sooner. Great solid analysis and appreciate the content! For those torn between the TTI and the Shadow Systems. Go with the Shadow Systems. I paid $2100 with the Mecanik o3 red dot package because I live in California and had to do a PPT for off roster guns. Talk about a premium... I put a brass magwell, weighted mag extensions as well as a backstrap to help mitigate the muzzle flip and recoil to help with balancing on my TTI. It didn't make a huge difference. I'm assuming a thumbstop can help but there's only one vendor that makes custom holsters specifically for the thumb stop plus a light if you choose to run one. The Canik Steel Frame is much better at stabilizing because of it's weight. The Canik is extremely light with the polymer frame and is very front end heavy which can increase the muzzle flip. You can run a giant RoboCop looking comp from wastech if you like on the Rival S series. I only know of one person that was brave enough to actually port their Canik but I haven't heard their feedback on actually shooting it yet. TL:DR Get the Shadow Systems if you want something flat out the box.

Echelon Comp is 23 ounces and the XR920P is almost 22 ounces. XR920P is $900 if you hunt around. Echelon Comp is $600. 4 things matter the most. Trigger, Recoil, Reliability and Cost. Echelon wins 2 of those (Trigger and Cost) pretty easily and per your video, the recoil was pretty close and the Echelon was 100% reliable. Regardless of your preference, the Echelon is not the best “budget” option. It is the best overall option on that table. Your video rubbed me a bit wrong always referring to the Echelon as the best “budget” choice. Great video production value. Thank you.
@HuntFishShootChannelАй бұрын
People get far too hung up on the word budget as some negative connotation. Let’s not do that, it helps no one. Im glad your SS guns are all working well. I was going to buy one a few years ago when they were still fairlly newly introduced to the market. Our local range had a fleet of them for rental and stopped renting them out due to massive durability issues (cracked slide parts was the complaint I'd heard the most). They rented almost every major brand and model on the market, and the SS was the major brand they said gave them by and far the most trouble. I'm seeing and hearing more and more that the SS guns seem to be good to go now, and that comp'd version looks really tempting. That makes me think they may have just had a few batches with metallurgy issies, but now they're pretty squared away.

So, I suppress, however, I did get a super deal on another threaded barrel for my g45 that I dedicated for a pmm “duty” comp. And it did exactly what they do….blew flames straight up and made an extremely loud bang! But, kept the nose on my cannon down for quick follow ups. I got the Canik TTI and is an amazing pistol I love the ergonomics, but indeed is a little snappy compare to other full size pistols that I have.

I thought S&W had one of the first compensated pistols on the commercial side of the market (I have had a PC 9L for at least 4 years)? I was only here looking at the Shadow Systems.. I have all but the Shadow systems here and looks like I gotta have one too... Nice no nonsense review and appreciate it...
@HuntFishShootChannel20 күн бұрын
Hell yeah and they did have the first that’s true, but with comp or detached they did not.

For me the XR920P would be my choice. I want a Shadow Systems gun in my collection badly. And that one is top of the list. Obviously I wasn't shooting. But looking at the slow motion, XR920P for sure the flattest. Second to my eye was the Echelon, then the Sig, then M&P, and I could honestly not see a difference in the PDP and Canik. Also now that there are I think 2 metal grip modules for the Echelon I'd love to see you get one, and revisit this just against the Sig with the normal AXG frame as I'm genuinely curious. Fantastic video thank you for this!

The echelon comp with a metal frame probably would be great!

Not sure if you've messed with it yet, but I feel like you'd fall in love with the FDEZ Fuse slide, barrel, and recoil assembly. Match it with an Icarus XXL grip module, Mischief Machine XXL grip module, or a Shalotec XXL frame.

Just by the eye test, the SS looks the flattest, then the Echelon and PDP seemed tied. I have a PDP comped based off your videos which is my favorite and a RamJet on my MR920 my second. Great video and might try out that SIG and Echelon here shortly.

The pdp is absolutely over spring from the factory. Even guys that shoot for walther say they are. I put a 15# spring and guide rod in my fs 5” gun and it made a world of difference. So i can only imagine how much better the pro-x would be. Im in a tough choice right now. Im also a 320 guy. But, the echelon and pdp pro-x are soooooo enticing

I have PMM comps on everything they make a comp for. You really can tell a difference between the manufacturers even though the comp is basicallythe same design. I need to test more to name a top 3 but all benefit to some extent by having a comp.

Great video, love the detail on each gun. You mentioned that you thought the Sig would shot flatter if it had its original frame. Then why change, grip feel? I’m a lefty, looking for first gun. Are any of these ami??

Changed it for the video to make the guns more evenly matched and evenly weighted. Weight plays a huge difference in how pistols shoot

Great choice! The MP is a sweet pistol too but it lacks a better optic cut and Magwell.

Looks to me that the Sig had the most consistent ejection pattern. Some believe this has a lot to do with reliability?? This was a great video.
@HuntFishShootChannel2 ай бұрын
We have found ejection and uniformity has more to do with ammo choice or different extractor tension. The Sig is actually the most ammo picky of the bunch

Would you consider doing a comp comparison between some of the smaller guns? Something like a p365 with a Ramjet vs Shield Plus Carry Comp, p365 Legion, etc? Trying to choose between the p365 Ramjet and the Shield Carry Comp right now.
@HuntFishShootChannelАй бұрын
We did something similar to this already and I would tell you, you should do the ramjet combo over the Shield Carry Comp
