I had tick problems on My deer as bad as the first video. How I took care of that problem was I took a cattle rub and soaked it in diesel, tied it up between 2 trees and poured a bag of corn under it. I hung a camera to see if the deer acted strange to the diesel and after the first couple deer showed up, they didn't pay any attention to it. It worked in less than 2 weeks most all ticks were gone. I figured if it worked on cows it would work on deer and it did. I soak it up with a garden sprayer half full of diesel every year around April and reapply it every other month. It just smells like an old tractor for the most part and We know how deer act around tractors left in the field. Just thought I would share! GL to all this season! Thanks!

Back before game cameras I had found a spot just looking at the management aerial photos in North Florida I saw a spot that caught my eye. Wow! Looks like a island in the middle of these trees. It was a walk and then some to get to it. Maybe a couple miles just getting through the brush and low lying area swamp. I may never find this place? Then I saw a opening Beautiful deer hog heaven. Ho lee Chite! This is great and getting away from the crowd. Looking around I found a roller and diesel fuel project hanging low and covered in rags.I hunted that area a coule times but it was a pain in the ass. Who ever placed that in the woods had put a great deal of effort into making that his or her spot . I never saw any tracks going in into that location.

You might consider a low maintainence bird breed for a pet and companionship. They can be sources of brilliant but natural behaviors and their size keeps food and care costs low. You might get some local children to help or even get their suggestions depending on what characteristics you benefit from as animals of incredible variety exist and they can bring great joy into our lives!!

We live on 4 acres and have "flooded the zone" with trail cams on about one acre of our wooded and native landscaped boundary. We love the wildlife videos but also do it for trespassing security. The plethora of trail cams have had quite a chilling effect on the neighboring trespassers. But not until we had achieved an array of "cameras in depth." Once they realized we had cameras watching cameras like Hunting Farmer, they gave up. The last video of them near our boundary was on a day several months ago when the lady came up to our fence line and pretended to be probing the ground for something for two hours but in reality she was inventorying and mapping our cameras. Haven't seen them on a camera since except for purely incidental shots taken 100 feet away. I think they were seriously considering doing a trail cam raid until they realized our set up.

@deidrabrey40433 ай бұрын
@@bondpit8750 Bingo. That's right. I left that out as it seemed like TMI. But yes the original owner next door buried their downspout pipes to run all the way onto the adjacent, undeveloped (at the time) lot which we then bought nine years later. We found the new owners out there looking for them and servicing one of them so we asked them to relocate them which they did not. Se we did. Anyway she appears to be looking for more or acting like she is looking for one as cover to check out our cameras. Their house is 100 feet from the property line which is all down hill for them. The old adjacent neighbors and many people in the neighborhood likely played on our lot before our builder bought it and built on it. But now we own it and have fenced that proper line and removed their encroachments and posted it with No Trespassing signs. Once the cameras went in the adjacent neighbors have remained away from that boundary. Funny thing is the only people showing interest in our property are the people who moved in after us who did not have a pre-existing track record of use other than those buried pipes which they could not even find in one case.

We had one of our 16 game cameras stolen...or so we thought for over a year. We were hiking in the same area about 16 months later and found our camera! After being subjected to two Alaskan winters the camera no longer functioned but the SD card retained the images. The "thief" was a black bear. We got some interesting photos of its mouth and head before he left it and moved on. The only other images were of the ground but we were very happy to find out it wasn't a two-legged thief in the wilderness.

I had a camera and a pop up blind stolen from my friend’s hunting property once. I had gone down to the property to check cameras and set up the blind two weeks before opening day of black powder season. When we got there the day before to get ready to hunt, we went to check all of the cameras and saw that my camera and blind were gone. After talking with some friends in the area they said that there was a guy that was known for stealing from several places around there to support his drug addiction. One large cattle producer said that they had seen him on there cameras on their property with the bed of his truck loaded with several items that belonged to the ranch. The sheriff was called and given photos and videos of him but did nothing. So now I have Python lock cables on all of my cameras.

One night, she captured a video of the coyote picking up the camera/rock and carrying in its mouth for some distance before dropping it. The camera rolled the whole time. Your could see the coyote's breath fogging and even see the inside of its mouth at times. No idea why the coyote chose to carry that rock away. I didn't have one stolen. But I did leave a camera attached to a tree for 3 years. I put fresh batteries in the Browning Trail Camera and strapped to to a tree on the edge of a wet weather pond. I meant to go back but I developed a painful knee problem and it prevented me from making that rather long hike back in there. After the season, I had knee replacement surgery and yet another year passed without going to retrieve it. When I finally went in looking for it, I found that the tree had grown to the point that my cable lock had squeezed the plastic mounting loops to the point of breaking. The camera was lying on the ground. I took it home and pulled out the SD Card and started looking at so many pictures. That camera captured over 2 years of photos spanning many, many seasons. Saw newborn fawns in the spring, yearlings in late summer early fall, mature Does and Bucks, all types of critters, somebodies dogs and turkey flocks also. Truly amazed at how efficient this camera was on battery life. Thanks for sharing your story. Merry Christmas to you and your family!! God Bless.

May sound odd, but I prayed for protection for him, asking God to set protective angels all around. One night late, he heard a truck come down his road, stop, and reverse out quickly. Checking the stills, we saw the headlights for the truck going it and out. At the side of the pictures was a pure white image of a humanoid profile of a face, with hairy claws underneath. I wish I could share the image here. I believe that it was one of God's protectors looking out for him. I suspect the truck driver saw it as well!

I set up a trail camera on a fence post and put wild bird seed on the next one. We set off with the dogs to exercise them and I pick the camera up on the way back. It's amazing how many small wild birds eat the food there is sometimes a Field Mouse snacking with them. 😀

Never had an animal mess that badly with my cameras. But I've had probably close to 10 cameras stolen. Very frustrating to be sure!! The video of the deer feet coming by was the best.

I always get that butterfly feeling when I head in to retrieve my cameras on public land. That camera is tough.

Lol Love the nature photography by nature ! Yes. Had a trail cam stolen but only recovered the strap this year buried in a garden. Stolen about 6 years ago. Thought it was a two legged bandit but now thinking it may have been a masked four legged bandit. Much prefer the latter. 😊❤

That was neat! I've had more cameras stolen or vandalized than I care to remember but I guess that comes with public land. I have a real amazing story about one of my cameras coming up in the future!

Brilliant! On my bucket list is a few at my place near Mt. Lassen, CA. First priority, a couple in the old pioneer cabin to watch the packrat circus!

I live in a very rural area and always secure my cameras with cables and locks. I find it necessary due to large predators including what we refer to as two-legged skunks. It's cheaper than replacing cameras. We get great video and pictures of all sorts of wildlife and even though we are far from civilization there is the occasional trespasser/troublemaker. We have deer, elk, coyote, cougar, black bear, raccoons, opossum, eagles, rattlesnakes, and all sorts of wildlife. Got a great video of the bobcat with one of the neighbor's chickens. What we do not get is much help from law enforcement so the videos and pictures are imperative or they don't care at all. So I lock my cameras up and lock the doors closed so the SD cards can be saved for evidence because if anything happens it's all we have to get anyone to help.

Those growths on that buck are a condition known as Rain Rot. I spotted a doe with that about 12 years ago here in Pa. I took a photo of that deer and showed the photo to a local game warden, and he told me it was Rain Rot. That doe had it far worse than this buck. That doe had a fawn with her that was perfectly healthy.

Used engine oil also works.Burlap or even sandpaper cam be used, anything to give a scratch & soak up the oil.

We put are cameras in a locked metal box lag bolted to the tree. Have gotten many pictures of bear's open mouths trying to chew it.

Had one taken off the tree it was on. Found it later. Strap was neatly cut with a knife or a sharp something. Camera was broken beyond repair. Card gone batteries gone. Another one disappeared completely. Never any sign of it. You can't have anything when you're not on site all the time. The neighbors know when you arrive and when you leave.

Definitely bears!! Have captured bears biting, licking and, yes, two cameras have been taken, but both times they clawed through the straps and carried the cameras 50 - 100 yds up the old logging roads and dropped them right where I would walk up on them. Always a picture of the bad news bears and their mischief
