Hunting a Metre Flathead on the Gold Coast

In this video we spend two days showing you how to fish for big Flathead in shallow waters, using swimbaits and large divers. A metre Flathead is something Bergie has been chasing for years and with a few big girls getting caught on the Gold Coast it seems like the perfect time to try and hunt one down.
The break in filming for Fishing Addiction has allowed us to head out on the water with Rodney and put our fishing skills to the test.

I caught a 112cm flatty under Sovereign Island bridge on a live Hardy Head and a 102cm in Biggera Ck about 20yrs ago. Both in the same year, both in the GC.

I caught a 109cm flatty that went 4.87kg on 6lb gear under the markeri st bridge in mermaid Waters in 1997. This was on a live herring caught from the bridge.

The Zerek Affinity swimbaits are the best in my opinion but the Bone Focus lures have been getting a few as well 👍👍

There was a two meter flat head cort of Harvey Bay pear tree years ago it was impressive I was there when it happened and a young fellow cort it .and there were several people there .the biggest iv ever seen .
