Hi Todd, Man you sure gotter dialed in with the boat blind and retrieving canoe!! Love those ghillie blankets, it all blends in so well with the grass background. Looked like too nice of day to have been this year though,🤔🤣 Still great to watch! Hey did you check out the binos at Costco? They'd be handy out there for id-ing bird's that land outside the spread! I always have a pair in my boat. Hope you had a Merry Christmas!! Doug,,,

Hey Doug - funny you ask about the binos! I did not have a chance to check out Costco, but my kids got me a new pair of Vortex binos for Chistmas. Used them just yesterday on a duck hunt, and I love them! Yep, this was one of those rare sunny days we had. I think it was the 10th or 11th. Yesterday was not so nice. Wet and breezy! You need a dog- I do the same with my 1860 putting out decoys with a smaller boat (pirogue). Good luck for the rest of the season.

Yeah I definitely miss having a dog. Could definitely use one now since I have the boat. My kayak has become my retriever but I can't haul that thing everywhere, so I really can only shoot birds in and around the decoys. I suppose that's a good thing. What kind of materials/ brands were used on the blind?? Blends in very well. Well done sur!

The main panels have the 4x4 grass mats from Tangle Free. I think I have 4 per panel so it covers all the way to the water. Just this season I took strands of the synthetic blind grass and wove them into the Tangle Free mats to mix up the colors. The mats are way to bright so mixing it up looks pretty good. Bow and stern / motors are covered with the Dive Bomb ghillie blankets. Eventually I'll wove in some of the synthetic grass into those ghillie blankets just to see how it looks.
