Great. This is about time. I just hope people will listen.

I would be a total duffer in a conversation with these 3 eminent gentlemen but I would enjoy being on the next table, in the snug bar, listening to them discuss the issues at hand.

What about landowners increasing affordable access for stalkers? Many willing people can’t get access to shooting opportunities but they could have a significant impact on managing deer populations through selective culling.

There's a traditional hunt in Exmoor, why do they say they can't hunt?
@fieldsportstv3 жыл бұрын
Tony Blair restricted them to two hounds instead of a full pack. Nobody knows why. Maybe he wanted to prolong the 'suffering' of the deer? 😁 / Charlie

Hunting should be allowed but let's cut the bullshit it's mainly a richman and woman's sport which dates back forever its not the most effective way off managing deer or fox's! That is the rifle in the right hands but it employs a lot off country folk as it should and I'm a working countryman and ex gamekeeper who knows the truth!
@jimihendrix98603 жыл бұрын
I beg to differ. In my experience, and those I know who hunt, it is most definitely not a "richman's" sport. It is effective at culling the sick and elderly deer.
@charlieneilson12392 жыл бұрын
Hi Shaun, that’s simply untrue. Having followed hounds most of my life, I can tell you categorically that people from all walks of life like to hunt. A good huntsman and his staff who know the ‘country’ are incredibly adept at selecting the warrantable deer. I shoot as well. It’s just different. A big-powered rifle on Exmoor - with all the walkers, hikers, anglers, hackers, visitors, etc just isn’t feasible. Scotland with their big estates … for sure. Not a national park with many many different landowners.

Are you in a European country by chance? In the US you could buy a 400 dollar rifle from Walmart and sight it in easily with 15-20 rounds and for deer tags in my state are only like 12 dollars. In the US it’s very affordable and saves me a lot of money when 5 deer can last me until next season.
@marleykeeslake55982 жыл бұрын
to be honest i think people who hunt stags with hounds are are the scum of the earth, realisticy your not hunting the wounded or sick deer, i live very close to exmoor and spend a lot of time up there, and the amount of times i have witnessed the hunt chasing and killing prime big stags which i had been photographing, if your gonna cull the deer, do it with a rifal and get an experienced stalker, the so called hunt aka a rich man’s sport for red faced old farmers with nothing better to do than charge across exmoor with not 2 dogs but a whole pack chasing big ans prize stags for the trophy so cut the bs we all know those people are breaking the law.

The hunts I love to follow are not very rich they have to do overtime to pay for their bills and time off😂😂😂😂

I'm certainly not anti hunting, but as a deer stalker I do find the idea of hunting deer with dogs a little distasteful. Not only that it goes against everything I have been taught and practice about selective culling for the benefit of the herd.
@fieldsportstv3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Peter. I think they both offer a kind of selective culling, but different styles. / Charlie

Not gonna happen lol. Deer season in the US is extremely popular and rightly so considering the taste of deer. I’ve got three this bow season and I’m going to have two more in the freezer come firearm season. Then elk season opens up in the northern US and I’m going to have both my freezers full by the end of the season.

@@Hello-hz7gj so you mean to tell me a cow getting his throat cut confined to a small space, seeing other cows getting their throat cut and knowing full well what is about to happen to it is more ethical than the deer I shot in the head from 400 yards away last year absolutely clueless as to what was about to happen, and dying without feeling an ounce of pain? I hope you’re not teaching ethics to anyone because that’s some backwards ass thinking my dude 😂
