Welcome back to another awesome episode of Sea Glass Archaeology!
Today I found a little bit of everything & had a pile of insight to share about my finds making this my most complete video adventure to date! (Including how to tell if your find is Glass or Plastic!)
I can't thank everyone enough for sharing your time, love & letting me know you appreciate the information!
Please subscribe to my channel so you won’t miss any of my Beachcombing adventures & educational videos! (It only takes a moment, is free & lets me know I'm on the right track which fills my heart with joy!)

Thanks everyone for your positive support & love! 🧡 It brings me so much joy to connect with kind hearted people from across the globe. Feel free to leave a comment or question & I'll be more than happy to reply!
Fun Facts about me:
~ I’ve never owned a vehicle (Or Drivers license)
~ Smartphone either
~In 2008 I sold my home in Calgary Alberta & moved over 5000 kilometers to a place I’d never been after deciding life was too short & have been making things up ever since, living free and on my own terms connected to nature. (I'd never seen or heard of sea glass before moving to a road which turns to dirt, then falls into the sea, however its discovery was inevitable as its everywhere!)
~ My first 2 summers on Cape Breton were spent working on a farm, living in a tent next to a cornfield. We had to walk a kilometre to the farmhouse & back everyday for water, showering when it rains or the closest body of water (side note, I learned quickly soap won’t lather with saltwater!).🙃
Those experiences further enhanced my appreciation for life’s simplicities & the importance of living on ones own terms…1000 generations have led to these moments (Long days spent on my knees harvesting are probably why I’m such a good picker!)
~ I'm probably listening to the year"1993" (The music of my youth) although the years which surround it are awesome as well!
~ I’ve never had a resume
~ I'm Left handed (Teaching myself music everything was upside-down!)
~ I spend under $100 on clothing a year. ( Which you might of noticed)
~ I spend $0.00 on takeout food a year however do appreciate the tastes of each and every restaurant chain.
~ Everyday I walk my doggies (off leash by the sea or through the woods) a minimum of 10kms a day. Since moving to Cape Breton we’ve walked the equivalent of earths circumference together without leaving the island! 🌎
~ My 120 year old (one bedroom) home doesn’t have a dryer, or bathtub, or foundation. During the coldest winter chill I’ve gone weeks without running water. It’s “cottage living” year round. A small brook runs behind my home, it’s an ancient game trail once used by indigenous people and despite urbanization any animal imaginable can follow the stream past my window to my amazement…growing up in Montreal the largest undomesticated animal I’d ever encountered was a squirrel.
~ As a youth I wanted to be John Lennon & his words & message have always spoke dearly to me heart.
~ That being said, I live my life like a Beatles song & do my best to “Radiate Everything I Am” without fear & be the change I want to see In the world .
~ Born & raised Anglophone in Montreal, I speak French as well & learned enough Spanish, Croatian & Arabic to get myself into conversations which are over my head but good fun!
~ I don’t eat meat with the exception of when kind neighbors leave a food basket on my front step, then I won’t waste it.
~ In person my excitement level is greatly amplified, no matter the activity.
~ Mostly, If you think I’m passionate about sea glass, you should see me with my children & the special relationship we have. They are my destiny & life’s greatest gift!
~ If you've made it this far theirs's one more thing I wanted you to know however its not easy for me to say:
Every moment I struggle with the Symptoms of Asperger's Syndrome, which might help with understanding why I'm so passionate, have a great memory, a terrible grip & live the life of a sea hermit, safe for my children. (Also always have music on as it helps keep me "out" of my head).
I've such a deep rooted connection to the world around me. Each and every one of you mean so very much to me, I cant thank you enough for your love and positive support!
The world is a better place when we're able to treat a stranger like an old friend and make them feel good about themselves!
Oceans of love all! 🧡

Building a library of dump diggers, marble hunters, arrowhead finders and seaglass pickers and just found your uploads. Subscribed and enjoying each video. Sea glass professor! I’m indoors in the California desert because the heat’s been in the upper 110’s but seeing the sea and hearing the surf is very refreshing! Thanks!

There is so much to take in in this video Mike that I've already watched it twice! Love your opalescent hobnail find. It was very interesting to learn how opalescent glass is made. I can hardly believe you found yet another of those incredible orange pieces! I hope the tractor light lead pans out, it will be exciting to confirm the source. All the seaglass tinies you were picking remind me of my experiences beachcombing in Souris, PEI.

I’m absolutely honoured you watched this video twice & appreciated it that much my ocean loving friend! 🧡 While today’s finds collectively wouldn’t even make my top 100 overall hauls since moving here in 2008 this might be my favourite video to date as I had so much to share about my finds & sharing knowledge is why I assembled these videos together, it brings me so much joy to enhance the seaglassing experience!💫 I’m absolutely blown away I found that orange piece, we were talking about it over the months! I definitely believe in the laws of sea glass attraction (not to mention that incident with the 4th red a few months ago when I was photographing the 3 tiny reds) but understand Scientifically speaking it’s the 4th I’ve now recovered making it one every 4 years on average (however we’re talking 1000s & 1000s of hours on my knees!). Hopefully I’ll get to pick tinies with you out in Souris in 2022, I’m honoured to be taking part virtually, just submitted my videos! 🙏 Thanks for your love my friend! Sending sunshine & hugs your way! 🌅

Hi Mikee! I just found your channel today. You are so fun to watch and I love all your explanations. I used to live in California and would go beach combing around the Bay Area. I loved finding sea glass, so I totally understand how you get so excited over your cool finds! I’ve never found a marble. Do you know why there are so many marbles in the ocean? LOL. I’m in Oregon now and I’m dying to get back to the coast after watching your videos. Good luck and keep up the good work because I’ll be watching! 🌊 😁 💙

Thanks so much for letting me know you’re enjoying my sea glass adventures and the knowledge shared along the way!🌅 It’s so awesome how a love for Beachcombing treasures brings kind hearted people together from across the globe and I’m honoured to have you as my new friend!🧡 California has some fantastic shoreline spots, I’ve always wanted to visit Fort Bragg, Davenport & I have a friend who recovers amazing finds kayaking in the Bay Area (such beautiful blues!). Most sea marbles were introduced (in abundance) into the shorelines out my way via “Storm sewers” which ended up in the oceans, some were actually introduced by slingshots, a story I was told by elders in my town, who did the slingshotting as youths! Thanks again for your positive words of encouragement & Hugs! 🧡

I like that orange/white marble it's cute. Make a pendant from the orange piece, after your story wrap it with wire not drill a hole. Those purple shells keep tricking me. What do you do with the spark plugs? I don't like the teeth either but they do look cool, espically the well worn one you just found. I liked that bottle neck.

Why do you collect seaglass? What do you do with it? How do you find the time?
@SeaGlassArchaeology
@SeaGlassArchaeology 3 жыл бұрын
Hi there Karyn! Great questions! ~ I started collecting sea glass immediately upon moving to Cape Breton Island in 2008, I guess like most people it becomes a lifelong passion, obsession, one which continuously draws us back to the shorelines in search of our next treasure. 🌅 ~ I do almost everything with sea glass, my shop by the boardwalk will be opening this upcoming week (June 23rd) I can see myself sharing videos from here this summer as we have set business hours (unfortunately making for less time on the beaches). ~ I’m not sure what you mean by how do I find time? To beachcomb? Or to edit these videos together? 🙃 Or to create? With the exception of 2009 & 2010 when I spent the summers working on a farm, in a tent, on a cornfield, what becomes of my sea glass and artifacts has been my only income since quitting my job in 2008 and trading in my big city life for a meaningful existence next to the sea, Somewhere I’d never been before….So I guess the answer would be “I find time because I chose to” 💫 Thanks for these questions! 🧡 I appreciate your time in watching my adventures! 🌅
