Almost bought a 6.5 prc myself recently. But.. I went with a .308 haha! Ammo availability was the deciding factor. I need to spend a lot of time on the range to build up proficiency and the ammo for 6.5 prc was just too expensive.

I really thought that one was going to run before he got the shot off. Well timed and well placed. I have a question about UK stalking though, how much of the meat does the hunter actually keep? I'm potentially interested in taking this up to add to my spearfishing hobby, but my main reason would be to fill the freezer, is this viable in the UK?

Hmmmm interesting, these are I’m sure big deers, but really nothing compare to our moose up here in the Yukon! I’ve shot lots of moose with 30-06, even my biggest one that yield over 300kg of dressed meat! Good video as usual! Nice shooting and nice meat!!
@peterjones44422 жыл бұрын
Thanks David, Agreed, they're not as big as Moose, in fact the club has hunted Moose in Norway, so we have some experience of these monsters. Even so, I don't believe they are big as in the Yukon. Click here to watch: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZXdhnd-opp0oaM Thanks for the comment!

@@peterjones4442 on that angle the best shot would have been a chest shot. He had 2 opportunities on broadside but he was too fidgety and not ready.. The shooter never looked comfortable with the shot so in my opinion a neck shot is higher risk than a chest shot.
@peterjones44422 жыл бұрын
@@brandoneloff5255 you must appreciate that a chest shot at that angle would have resulted in the bullet travelling through the deer and exiting at the rear end, in which case your thumbs up for the butcher would have been a bit redundant. Thanks to Charlie's shot placement, the butcher (Paul incidentally) had something to work with. I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one, but thanks for watching nonetheless.
@fillthefreezer8413 Жыл бұрын
why waste so much meat with a neck shot? you're close enough that a head shot is super easy, and if you're not inclined towards that, behind the shoulder always provides a more efficient and less wasteful shot.
