Love the concept of the Blind grab. When I was doing my own comic blog in 2017-18, I did a small feature where I let my 10 year old (at the time) randomly pick a comic from my collection every week and I did a review of that book. It was fun.

I really enjoyed Morrison's New X-Men, with its typically Morrison way-out concepts and great art by a range of illustrators. Fantomex was inspired by the Italian comics character Diabolik. Secret War is a good miniseries but it's the covers which first attracted me to it - Dell'Otto is such a superb artist. I'm all for blind grabs, more of them please Mike.

Just to say thanks for having the best comic KZbin channel (I've been addicted to watching for the last month since I finally got KZbin on our TV over here in New Zealand) I catch myself talking to the screen, "Buy that one" or "I've got that issue!" and it's fascinating to see what's available over there whether it be stores or flea markets. Cool grabs within a quick timeframe. I do like that #0 Brightest Day and those Pin Up books are really cool. I have that Iron-Man / War Machine book that I bought as a kid straight off the spinner rack from a 7-11 I believe.

At 9:10 David Finch one of the greats. I like the Secret War Dell'Otto art especially the Silver 'In Thy Name' #2 Dell'Otto cover which i have in my personal collection, my favorite Silver Surfer cover. That comicbook shop is a big place you can definitely stay in there for hours or days searching and digging through all short snd longboxes for nice comicbook finds. Nice books and review.

Awesome Video, thanks for sharing! I like comics no matter what so I’m a fan of just picking up a title I wouldn’t have thought about. I did that a few weeks ago at a local comic con. One Seller had a buy 12 and pay for 10 box. I got a few Warlord by Mike Grell issues that I wasn’t even thinking of when I went to the Convention.

Brightest day was ok,but it had to follow what were in my opinion two of the greatest green lantern story runs ever ie:; the sinestro corp war and blackest night ? So it feels almost destined to be a bit overlooked in such August company ,I enjoyed the secret wars run too, the way that the tale unfolded was great,the heroes had no idea why they were being targeted as their minds had been wiped / blocked by shield ( fury at his tricky best )then we found out what happened along with them ? It was pretty cool IMO ? Oh,and yeah I would enjoy seeing you do blind grabs,sounds fun

The unsorted boxes are a little tough to slog through. They’re the $0.50 books primarily, so there’s a LOT of of random, irrelevant, unpopular titles ya gotta push thru. So, basically, if you’re looking to find some filler issue of some weird, random indie ur collecting, or something like that, don’t bother, unless you have slotted the entire day to dig. I think I flipped for about an hour, and didn’t find a single thing I was even remotely looking for.

@lunchmoneycomics, A lot of comics dealers there. Big space and free parking and only $10 to get in. I think the attendance was on the light side, which was weird because the lot was very full. I didn't buy anything big, but dealers were willing to make deals starting around 2PM. The last time I went to Plastic City was probably the first one and was maybe 10-15 dealers in a VFW, this was much bigger. I mostly hunt for silver and go cheap on it, some Bronze, so I wasn't looking for major keys or anything. I picked up a few Kirby Mister Miracles, a Brave and the Bold with Metamorpho, Avengers Annual #3, FF 79, Strange Adventures with Adam Strange, a Marvel Team up #6, Foom #1 (Kirby Returns!), a $5 paperback Silver Surfer Masterworks, which had the first six issues, maybe I'll gift it. The oldest thing I got was a Thor #133. I spent a little over a hundred and everything was VG+, maybe FN- if you squinted and seemed pretty flat and clean and that included spending $15 on a Captain Action card game from Takeout games. I have a weakness for Captain Action. I saw a cheap ROM #1 maybe $6 when I first got there and spent the last 40 minutes there looking through dealers to find it, but couldn't remember where it was. Dealers kept saying, "what? ROM? No that wasn't me." Don't feel any FOMO though, you've been doing much better by the looks of your videos. I've been meaning to get to Terrifconn for years.
