I swear it’s stressful every time I play GBL, I don’t know why I keep putting myself through this. It seems like I always end my last set with a loss and go negative and it leaves me in a bad mood. I really gotta rethink my life choices lol

Tanking is the way and only way. I tried to lose 300 games then climb up. Get all the dusts then grind to .500.

I've been having the same day, doesn't matter what team I put up. Hard counters all day. I should really quit playing GBL. It's too stressful.

Yes. Me too. I only Grind Pokemon for PvP. But at the End its more Stress....."hate" then fun. Two seasons ago i hit legend. Last season expert. Highest Elo was 2916. And then, only negativ Sets. I never came back to this elo. This season im "only" Veteran. So often i was closed to expert but i didnt made it. Elo high was 2741. And then negativ Sets. Hard countered or f***ing lags. Down to 2300 - 2500. When there is noch algorithm, then it is a game of pure luck. What lead / Team will you get. Again i fight back to 2700. 3 days left for expert....or down again. We will see. Its frustrating. 2741, 2734, 2724, 2717, 2697 and so on. But then stop. Instead of Expert you go down to Veteran elo. Again and again.

i was using anni, dew,skar and only found lanturns. I switched to trev as lead, then shadow alo sandslash and lanturn myself and went got my highest of all time at 2298 so far

What team you running? I’m running shadow whis and shadow steelix and shadow venasur, all under rank 10 so it’s all my best shadow pokemon and I can’t even crack expert got to 2450 and then just kept getting walled

Ran a team of Sableye, S-Aslash and S-Venusaur. Guess what I kept running into in the back? Skeledirge 3 out of 5 matches, after not seeing any fire Pokémon. All the Annihilapes I ran into all the sudden had ice punch instead of night slash. I’m convinced that there is an algorithm.

it’s blatantly obvious that there is an algorithm indeed, the people that say there isn’t are literally delusional. however there is a certain aspect of skill and luck that seperates legend battlers and from veterans and experts and aces and noobs

@@miketatum9321 well yes and no, the great players find ways to win some games the average players wouldn’t, resulting in a slightly higher win rate (60%-70%) depending on how late they started playing in season, and how many battles they have played

Trev feels strong in the current meta tbh. Feasts on Lanturn, Whiscash, Gatr, Ape, has play into fliers like Gligar and Skarm. I pair it with Basti because I’m okay with people hating me.

I empathize with the loss after a climb. I climbed over 200 elo to 2400+ really pushing for expert as a new serious GBL player. The team was S. Exca, Ape, S. Gligar. There was a few times where i genuinely hard countered the enemy, but a lot of the wins were careful energy management, a few clutch catches, etc. But man, todays sets were just brutal. So many lost leads, and even hard countered on swap, it was genuinely disheartening. Then even when i switched teams around after falling about 100 ELO, it still happened. Its just genuinely disheartening because even when you try to adapt, you get punished. And youre limited to 25 battles a day, so you just have to hope tomorrow you dont get the same horrid luck. I really wanna like GBL but I see why so much of the community is so over it.

I played against this exact team and it rolled my build. I was running sandslash double flier. The ice punch made the difference.

State of 21s is miserable. Everyone dropped in catch cup and the lag is horrendous.

I'm just as stuck as you are: got to 2910 during Remix, but then leagues swapped to Catch Cup and I fell into 2650. I'll go 4/5 on one set with a new team, but the rest of the sets are 2/5. It's rough when you keep fighting the same lead/team but as soon as you swap you never see it.

You 're overthinking your teams. Run the simplest ABB team you can think of. Just make sure you're not double weak to Lanturn (and counter) bc if you haven't seen it in the lead or as the safe swap, you can assume that it'll definitely be in the back. That's what the last few days have taught me 😅

It's rough tbh. I've always made it to Veteran but ths season seems very bleak. Every time i reach close to Veteran Mark i get hard countered and a drop a few 100 pts and the climb to get back those lost pts is really difficult...

Like.. there is a glitch where people can know your lineup and your moves if they use a certain discord bot.. but it still only helps after you both selected your teams so they couldn’t add Arcticuno to their team after seeing your line up

@@TheRealMrAndrew 2300 is still low, people can run spice and hardcounter you but there isn't a way so people can specifically target you... If you find a way to explain how someone would do it, and why niantic would develop it when elo is a fine balancing system, I'll eat my words. I bet you can't and that it's just hard for you to take accountability. A lot of people have problems with it so it's not a big deal, but you'll improve so much if you start taking your losses as they are, either hardcounters (bound to happen in a random game) or skill issue
