*Falling Tide TV* Bravo well done, thank-you sir for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless.

Here in Southeast Louisiana we are a Delta! That means we loose a magnitude of land just by the tidal movement. These invasive species add to the errosian of our marsh land by digging up roots, which somewhat hold our marshes together, and populate at an astrological rate. I do know it would seem to be inhumane, but this just must be done if only to curb the population. I do know that much of the US is trying to erradicate the feral hog population due to the incompatibility between the hogs, and deer. Nutria, and Feral Hogs are a big problem here in the Delta area of Louisiana. Nate, your video was very good, and your message very strong. Thanks for sharing. Be Safe, and God Bless!

David Babin. Thank you for your comment! I am commenting from 10,000 miles afar. But. Have made quite a study of the feral pig problem. In the USA. And Canada. And can attest. It is enormous. Also noted. That, Bar a lot of flashy and big talk. Do State Governments not give a horse's arse about the environment. Farming losses. Human concerns. Neither the vivid possibility of the spread of African Swine Fever. They don’t see e.g. “Since China’s first reported case of ASF in August 2018, the province has spread to every province in China, and beyond its borders. The government has thus far reported 137 outbreaks, but according to numerous farmers, many more are going unreported. Something like 50% of sows are dead, Said Edgar Wayne Johnson, a veterinarian and founder of Enable……… In Shandong, the 4th largest pig raising province in China, more that half of farms with large numbers of sows are now empty.” www.pigprogress.net/health-nutrition/asf-china-an-underestimated-crisis/ China exports pork globally. Is every such carcass ASF free??? I lost a total piggery through another virus. And therefore. Would dearly assist in averting a catastrophe. I contacted the two top State Government Officials. And the top man in the USDA-WS in Texas. Informing them that I offer consultancy to address. Amongst other. Feral pig number reduction. In a magnitude. Yet unknown to, and unimplemented by mankind. The one commented, in person, via telephone call. “I have no interest!” From the other. Not a squeak. Many other were people who should be concerned and take note. Were informed. Are, as well, not concerned about this very issue. Shockingly alarming. Is it. Regarding eradication. I honestly do not see it as a reachable goal. But. Ruthlessly addressing the problem. Is to my mind. And what is on offer. A cheap. Real cost-effective. Effective reachable goal, requiring the minimum human input, is what I suggest. Because trapping. With a truly brilliant newer design. Helps. Also shooting. But in relation to the population growth. One man’s breath in a cyclone.

I caught 4 feral hog piglets that size. I have had them for 6 years now, and they are friendly as heck. I was going to raise them and eat them but they ended up being my pets and hand out with my dogs. When I bring back some hogs after a hunt they are ready to eat some bacon, too. They think they are dogs, they don't act like pigs.😂

Have you ever heard of the theory, to leave the big sows and shoot the rest?
@fallingtidetv9 ай бұрын
Never
@FIELD2FREEZER9 ай бұрын
@fallingtidetv when I was stationed in Germany, I took the German hunter safety class. It was way more in depth than any of our US courses. A lot of their views and theories, I did not agree with. But there were quite a few that opened my eyes. Not sure if it's factually true or not, but they claim it to be true, and teach to NOT shoot the big sows bc if you do, all of the remaining females will go into heat at once. Thus creating more breeding. Almost like the big female in the heard is "the alpha". Her "cycle" (menstruating cycle) goes in effect whenever it normal does and in the process, the rest of the female's cycle are kept dormant. But once the big lead female is killed, all the rest immediately go into heat, like a pecking order for the next lead female. And during this process, they all get bred causing a spike in population. Again.... I'm no scientist and I can't guarantee that this info is accurate. But this is what Europe believes, and they've had pig problems much longer than we have. Regardless, BBQ pulled pork is amazing and I bet you had an awesome meal with that little booger you kept. Great video.

whats a pig brig.... i live in Saint Mary and havent heard about it
@chrisrosenthal12109 ай бұрын
@@paytonadams2452 Google it. They're expensive to buy, but the best system I've used in 35+ years of trapping them. Older breeding age hogs get pretty trap shy. If you put enough bait in the pig brig, the reluctant ones will stand back and watch the others eat until they finally go in themselves. It also catches them continuously unlike other triggered traps that only catch what's inside one time. I've caught multiple from one sounder then caught more hours later.
