That's why I love your videos, honest and to the point. This looks like a great hunter/skinner, however not much else. Let’s hope that this was a one off and the rest of the production line does not ship as dull and with the handle pin problem. Keep up the GREAT work!!! PS because of your reviews I just ordered the Brovo1LT (Elmax), Bravo 1.5 (S35VN) and Bravo 2 (S35VN). I love my Fallkniven A1, S1, and F1 regular and PRO but you turned me on to Bark River because of the quality of built and handle ergonomics. They should be here next week and I can’t wait!!! Again thank you for all that you both do and you will be celebrating 6,000 subscribers very soon!!!!

Nice review guys! I have experienced the same problem with my boker plus knife. The factory edge was uneven, took we quite some time to fix it with the landsky. If they would not rush the sharpening they would actually increase in value imo.
@DutchBushcraftKnives
@DutchBushcraftKnives 7 жыл бұрын
for sure! we would have had a much better experience if it had come razor sharp. Delivering a sharp knife shows that you stand behind your product. didn't seem so on this knife... it looked rushed.

Say Heah Dutch, I just bought a Bokor Coye Ridgeback, I teamed it with a Benchmade Arvensis 119, I bought them for wet, and snowy weather, I think Bokor nailed Tempering their 440c. But the Aversis 119 is in the 154 CM. and I think the two will compliment eachother. Nice to see you again.

I have a Boker Plus Rambler for skinning and I've noticed the edge dulls a bit quickly. Do you think a convex edge would have better edge retention than the factory V edge but be just as sharp?
@DutchBushcraftKnives
@DutchBushcraftKnives 7 жыл бұрын
convex will glide more easily over bone so that the apex won't hit the bone as much as with a v-edge. it should be worth trying! that said the boker plus series is made in taiwan and i'm not so sure about their heat treatment either.

+davidpyper82 in a survival situation rust can form.a problem. Not necessarily weakening the blade but it dulls the edge very fast. The thinnest part of the edge will rust quickest. It will crumble the first few microns dulling it

I got 2 boker arbolito and had the same problem. The heroe g model was terribly dull when i received it. Love the look and after a lot of sharpening it works fine (7/10) for EDC. My other one its a Drop point. Acceptable sharp (8/10). Like this one for allround. Its a shame this poor quality control and the "esthetic above all" product development. Hope to see review of this 2 or some Yarara knives ( argentinian brand with fans and detractors! ) thanks and sorry for my poor english. Excelent work!!!!!

N695 is Bohler answer to 440C, a good balanced steel. N690CO is one rare alloy containing Cobalt which makes drill bits tougher and more edge holding. An Italian drop forged N690 blade is amazing! Vg-10 is another Cobalt bearing alloy that I know of. No pm sintered powder metallurgy alloys have Cobalt that I have found.

Say Heah M&M, Yeah, I think Bokor does a great job tempering the 440c. Infact, I teamed my Bokor Aparro with my Mora Garberg. The Bokor Aparro is a Hollow Handle Survival Knife. That's what I like to carry. A Survival Knife with a Bush Craft Knife. The Aparro is a Martin copy. Martin Aparro runs around $500.00 They put male treats on the blade and female treats in the handle. Then they marry the two, then put some hard epoxy when it gardens you have a very strong bond. Yeah, I can baton my Bokor Aparro. Infact I would like you guys to do a review on the strength of the Bokor Aparro (I got my Aparro at Knife Center). Thanx You Guys very much in advance.,,.p

seems pretty senseless to create a fulltang knife and making the handles/connections so fragile. maybe its fulltang to reach a certain weight in this size class? had been a fine neck-knife with a rat tail tang and fully enclosed wood handle. also i find it very important to have a very good factory edge, cause if u buy a knife, u can only test it on paper/cardboard before deciding to return or keeping it. cant risk to damage the blade. had this problem once with some eka w12 knife, super dull it came, couldnt "testcut" with it. btw: finding it very questionable that böker wants this knife back after testing. they cant sell it any more, they wont inspect it and learn from it. good vid as always!

By the way, if this is a review sample they sent to you for testing and they want it back, there's a good chance they sent the same knife to someone else for testing before you. That's most likely why the edge was dull and poorly sharpened, the guy before you was just bad with it. You can expect Böker to sell well sharpened knives, especially at that price point.

Mission ready means my go bag will have right tools for the job. If I am gonna chop wood I am going to have a good ax. Heck, Roland Welker survived on what looks like the Dano for 100 days on season 7 of Alone. See his ten item video. Or the one when he uses it to take down the musk ox has a clear picture of it.

The knives from Boker Arbolito obviously suck. I purchased a Buffalo Soul 42. It also was completely dull. More like a blank. I could press it against my skin, making sawing motions, not a mark. Second, the tip was ground badly, beyond a reasonable recovery. Now I did grind it into shape, but I had to remove a LOT of metal to make that happen.
