Hey Mark, great result. Joel and myself, from BRT Typhoon, employed the same tactic except we tried to stay at the back of a group so we gained extra speed by sprinting through them. FYI there's a few BRT riders that do the CLS hills and thrills ride at 18:50 Fridays (zwiftpower.com/events.php?zid=1652264) as practice for the coming Tuesday (they use the same route). We find it helpful to gauge the pace and practice leadouts/positioning. Good luck for your remaining races!

Nice! Absolute power is king with the right condition/race/tactics. Many folks, including me, are quite jealous of a 1000w+ 15-ish second sprint. That's just not easily trained. Well done.

Great tactics Mark. Pity your team mate dropped his chain. You were working the KOM well together. I tried to leave myself out again this week. But our No. 1 rider had to drop out. So I jumped in (not a fair trade). The A Cat start was insane, 450W and getting dropped. Then the pack kicked it up on the first hill. I made a respectable (for me) 57th. Keep milking those sprints for points mate. Loving the videos.

Quality content mate, not sure if you remember me saying I was attempting to run as a cyclist but found crippling calf pain to be an issue. I brought myself some actual running shoes (had been using tennis shoes to run, forgive me) and now I've just managed to crack my first 10 km in 51 minutes. Your videos are great for motivation, thanks man, keep it up.

I like this strategy to get the points. Nice power btw, you'll be riding in the A's soon and contesting the sprints there. :) Zwift is a game and what you make of it, my strategy is contesting longer climbs, it brought me from B to A+ in a year. Thx for that again Mark, great content and made me chuckle. Nice tactics and power. Just a hunch, suspect at some point Zwift may limit the sprinter points or limit in some way how Far you can be behind for the sprint points to count. In the meantime make hay. Just my guess, no insider knowledge. Close to being lapped? Joking and who cares eh. Better than average by a mile....lovely.

@@MarkLewisfitness 😂 indeed. 👍a potential analogy is in the Tdf ( I know, it isn’t but bear with) where every day riders need to finish within I think 17 per cent of the winner that day in order not to get kicked out. So they can’t sand bag for the sprint days and merely roll along on the grippy days. Compared to the overall single winner of the zwift race you got a lot of points using the sprint rules. arguably. I don’t argue that. I’m 101kg myself and love the whole gig of what you are doing. I think it’s great. The rules giveth and the rules takth away. So Know the rules. Lighter riders may complain was a thought I had. So. Ssshhhhhhhh! On the counter, zwift are creating lots of races with a points system so races within races, hence rules to be known and taken advantage of. Crack on. God I can go on a bit. 👍

I know you think that was great. Those sprints are good, and would get the b cat fal points most days. But you should of raced with the peleton, the whole course is effectively just a bunch of 1 to 5 minuet efforts. This plan should of been the back up, if you had got dropped off the KOM. I honestly see a rider who could of won that stage from the performance I saw. Including the fal in the sprint. Take it from a sprinter who knows :D I did love the race break down. Do you do any videos for work outs off the bike aimed at sprinters?

While I do agree with your tactics to go for the Fastest Through Segment points, I think you underestimate how competitive you are when it comes to climbing. Obvious in category A, the lighter people have a major advantage when it comes to climbing. But due to the category cut-off being watt/kg, if you are at the top of your category you will climb just as fast as any other C rider. Since if they climb faster, they need to increase their watt/kg and that will promote them to the B category. Should you change your tactics focusing on sprinting? I don't think so. But you can race pretty competitive when it comes to climbing as long as your watt/kg for non-sprinting efforts is in the top of your category, regardless of your weight. I'm in the D category and 108kg, so I have some experience with being the heaviest in the race ;-)

Are you sure you bike isn't going anywhere? It really seems you are going to rip it apart. W.r.t. To dropping a chain on a Kom attempt... Come on!! You don't shift big ring on a Kom attempt. That's why there is a slider called trainer difficulty. You move it prior to the race such that you (him) doesn't need to change from the big ring.
