Hi Mark, love the content, do you drink alcohol or are you teetotal? I’ve just started the fat jab and seen some weight loss, but I do like a beer most nights!

Disordered eating; heard it all now. You do have a choice to stuff yourself or not. You have free will; in your case however it seems you have very little will.. never your fault

Great video...I was 315 in my 20's and went down to 179 at age 39 after I got into cycling. I've slowly been adding weight and am over 200 lbs again. I'm creeping on 50 years old and would describe my eating as disordered as well. It definitely gets harder as we get older. Good Luck on your journey.

I have commented on Ozempic before, I just switched to Mounjaro myself, and so far it seems all good to me. For context, I went from 186kg to 110kg on Ozempic, went back up to 125kg and now aiming for <100kg.

oh, Mark, thank you, you have such a good common sense while talking about all those fat jab medications. Me, being doctor endocrinologist, almost every day I have to explain to patients, that this is not a miracle, that magically "delets" fat or excess weight, but through appetite (GIP GLP1) suppression there is less appetite and that person still has to workout :)

The drug made me sick when I increased the dose too rapidly. I’ve dropped back to the starting dose and feel better, but the chocolate chips are back too.

Thanks Mark - I really appreciate your candid view on things. You talking openly about TRT really helped me and this is no different. Mental health and weight gain (and resulting negative body image) are real problems, that particularly for men, are often ignored. I'd much rather open candid content, than endless BS videos from people who take a world of different things but deny they ever do.

I stepped my jab up to 5mg. Worst decision I ever made lol. I should’ve listened to you and stayed at 2.5. As I’m about 2-3 weeks behind you, so I’ve been watching you closely haha. I’ve delayed putting in the next order, as I wanted to figure out if I should stay at 5, or go back down 2.5. Definitely gonna go back down I think. The sides are horrendous. If you wanna have a 10 minute chat to inform your video I’d be happy to share my experiences lol

Just asking: I'm not an English speaker (I'm Belgian) so maybe I missed something in the video and my question is ridiculous. Is Mounjaro available over the counter in the UK or did you have to go to the doctor for it?
@MarkLewisfitness2 сағат бұрын
It has to be prescribed by a doctor, but that will be done online

Well done Mark. Fellow disordered eating person here too. Stress, boredom, celebrating.. all end up with eating for me! Did Wegovy for 4 months, lost a loaf of weight and reprogrammed my brain… been off it for several months, but the old ways are coming back again… in a way looking forward to Christmas being over so I can give myself permission to return to less disordered eating again!

What ever possessed you to learn the Guitar, Mark? 😂 In the end, these things are personal choices and it’s great you’re telling your story in such a way as to help people make their own choices, rather than, as per much of the social media commenting world, telling people what they should and shouldn’t do 🤦♂️ 😂

Silly question - once you're training again, don't your calorie and protein needs (as opposed to wants) increase? How does that fit / work with the reduced appetite caused by the drug?
@MarkLewisfitness3 сағат бұрын
Not sure. I’ll see. Training isn’t that big a deal to me right now.
@stuartandrew90914 сағат бұрын
You're a professional athlete, maybe you need to focus your mind and will power more effectively to switch off your compulsion to over eat. Feels like you taking this drug is a bit like a fairly attractive person having cosmetic surgery. Is there really a need?

I fully get the food noise thing. I’m obsessed with eating as well. Coming from 170kg down to 92kg 16% bf, all achieved through excessive cardio only. Now back to 114 28%BF. Sincerely interested in the fat jab, because I suffer like crazy on OMAD or any other calorie restricted diet. Funny enough, just had a nasty virus a few days ago that left me not interested in food at all for a few days. This made me wonder : is this what normal people feel? How do you guys go on about actually getting a prescription? I’m in Germany and we’re slow with these kinds of things..

After watching your content for a long time, I’m finding it hard to connect with this new path. As a T1D that’s had to regulate lifestyle choices, food, health and exercise 24/7 for 20+ years now, it is a difficult journey. Also as an athlete, where so much joy and fulfillment comes from flying close to the sun and pushing yourself to reach new heights. Which with some harder conditions, can equally land you in a really bad spot if you aren’t careful. Your health and ambition for training can often be at odds, definitely understand the struggle.

Very interesting video, as always. My immediately thought was - it's a shame you hadn't been been smashing the weight room, as well as Burger King, in the lead up to taking a fat jab...you'd be super shredded right now! 😉

@MarkLewisfitness4 сағат бұрын
Feel a bit “down” …. That is normally my reminder that I forgot a shot. At which point, I would then take one. As an experiment, I did go two months off and got to a very dark place, mentally, by the end of it. Not fun.

Cracking update for how it's working for you, Mark. Ignore/clearly have those keyboard warriors. Not sure you've spoken about it, and I'm spitballing ideas. One of the most valuable things about your channel is the nuanced way that physical fitness is shown as a part of your life, which has, like most of us, mental and physical health challenges. It's your journey and if that occasionally illuminates mine that is a win for both of us.
