I take that back. That angustiden at 6:40 is absolutely pristine. What a beautiful color and the serrations are clean. You are one lucky man.

Very cool to see you out there looking for teeth. Very much like hunting arrowheads... for when we are in the right places there is a good amount of "scatter". The tooth at 4:10 was killer!! Your 6:15 again blew me away! You are right! Awesome one coming in at 8:00! I look forward to the day soon where I might well find artifacts in that arrangment of stellar! It happens fairly regularly! Cool show of it all!

there are teeth in the creek behind the YMCA off Trolley Rd in summerville. It might be tough today because it has been raining A LOT the past few weeks. Good luck! ps - don't take any tools there so you don't get a ticket - that place is in the town limits

Holy crap do you take in people and guide them to the creek. My creek was so disturbed by Sandy that nothing remains of the gravel beds where I would find them.
@blackriverfossils11 жыл бұрын
there are a lot of places around here capable of producing fossils, but they get hit pretty regularly so there is generally nothing laying just laying around for any length of time. your best chance is to hit a spot right after a heavy rain. you should wait a day or so after heavy rain to hit sawmill though so the water has time to go down and clear up.

@Blackriverfossil So I’m wondering, why does it seem like there are concentrations of teeth in certain areas? I mean like I would assume that all the different shark species wouldn’t go to a particular place to die. Or was there just so many thousands of sharks in the ancient ocean that the sea floor was littered with them?
@brianjacob87282 жыл бұрын
All depends on the age of the exposed deposits and what sharks were alive/living in the area at that time.

Why don't you sell your fossils
@blackriverfossils3 жыл бұрын
@@andreaeastman7391 I know it doesnt look like it on here, but it is not easy to find the good ones. I spend lots of time hunting, but I don't always find something, and most of the time they're broken in some way. If I were just to sell them all, it would not be a good investment of time and it would take away the joy of finding the good ones and ultimately erode my enjoyment of this fantastic hobby. Plus they're just REALLY cool and I never get tired of looking at them, reminiscing on the hunts when I found them and who I was with.

Dario Gijon Martinez Depends on where you are hunting. Where I hunt in South Carolina, you can find more in a river. In Florida, you can find hundreds of teeth in a day on some of the beaches, so there you would find more on the beach.

@@torystemsley3435 those spots aren't productive anymore, but they do cut through the formation so you can find small teeth there sometimes. if you want a chance to find bigger ones, explore creeks that are overgrown and nasty, where most people won't go.

Why are you so capable of collecting the pre-historic fossils around you, but have such a hard time picking up our garbage? Is that what you want generations from now to find when their digging around for artifacts from our civilization?
