I chase deer in Australia and John was happy to help me out with advice that has enabled me to take sambar and other species from a saddle with bow. I even spar rattled a stag last year after hearing him talk about it. I have his books too and the information transfers over to my situation. Great bloke.

John is a great hunter his scent control is unbelievable you can't beat a deers nose he gets winded but probably a lot less than most hunters that's the only thing I would ever say about him he is hardcore and it's hard he's killed a lot of deer thanks John for the information it definitely is a big help great show guys

I had to laugh when John said he cuts at least 4ft shooting lanes even on state lands so he has clean shooting the look on your face was priceless. I guess the rules don't apply for him and too tell everyone that he does it crazy

There's some good ones in michigan. Yes they are farther in-between compared to other states. If you put in the time scouting and go where Noone else goes you'll find them. You get out what you put into it..

Man I would love to see a combo with him and Dan. Not for the arguments or crap like that but you would get almost 100 combined years of experience hunting public land. They both have so much good info . It’s not about attacking other hunters and fighting. It’s about working through the differences and being okay with it

Health is wealth. Too many people experience a poor quality of life and die prematurely due to poor lifestyle choices. Lifestyle choices can make us sick and lifestyle choices can make us well. I was just at my WI property getting all my stands moved as well as entering/exiting routes and set up for 2024 based on food plot types and known rut funnel areas. I also located some good public land locations as well for run/gun-style hunting once buck sign starts showing up. READY!

Spent time with john. Great guy. More knowledge then the 2 habitat guys i hired and wasted 4k on. One is over 225k subscribers and john mentally and physically is miles ahead.

Love john's knowledge on pressured hunting it's the real deal! Read his first 2 books. If you can stick to it, it works! Ive seen overall more wildlife. Ie. Bobcat, fox, coyote, bear, and loads of deer and a couple great just shy of book bucks with this knowledge! Thanks a million john!! Good luck this fall!!

I was that fat 252... my goal to stay under 200. and yes it is a choice. I started saddle hunting last year. I practice srt climbing once a week. And stick setups to stay in hunting shape... my 5yo grandson is my spotter. He runs around the tree below talking up a storm much like your son josh. 56 and still active.

I’m local to the eberharts. Jon killed almost all his Michigan bucks before archery season was popular. While everyone was using time off for firearm season, Jon used his for archery. He was the only guy in the woods. That’s why he’s not killing 2 bucks a year every season in Michigan for the last 10-15 years. Oh and “Michigan record books” is 100 inches of antler with archery gear.

His spots are hard to get too. How does he not sweat while doing his "speed scouts" in early Sept ???? A ScentLoc suit is worthless if your sweating . His tactics are NOT unique at all. Its the same BASIC tactics discussed in hunting magazines 30 + years ago. Never gets winded ,, yeah right. I dont trust him.

John is good but in my opinion which doesn’t mean anything on someone else’s channel but this is the last interview i would have ever done because he trash talked the man that helped you get going and get a good following all because he doesn’t agree with Dan on scent control because he is the number one spokesman and the top sponsored person of scent lock basically political type crap. Again in my opinion you just smacked Dan right in the face with this one, especially when there is so many more interviews you can and could have done. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should as a good friend. This is my opinion and I’m just on the outside looking in and maybe you talked to Dan and he would probably said yes do it even though he is hurt i would bet money on it

@@rustinpeace7466 I’m definitely not saying anything bad about John besides the whole scent deal but if you’re going to do the scent lock deal then you would have to follow to the T his regime but yes he is a amazing huge buck killer and that’s a fact and his knowledge is great and goes along with any other great deer hunter. The only thing I was saying was I lost a lot of respect as a person when he says bad things about people if you question scents lock clothing. He can say he doesn’t play the wind all he wants but it’s common sense to be one of the best killers that’s just not true and for him to slander people that don’t agree and the one that helped this channel hugely is all I was pointing out. Me personally I just wouldn’t have slapped a man in the face like that. Like I said in the first post I made this is just my opinion and life experiences that even if he said it didn’t i would bet a ton that it actually hurt dans feelings pretty good which we all know most men would never say so

so he just admitted to taking deer illegally. any buck he has killed on state land needs to be confiscated and he should be fined and jailed accordingly and if any are on record books they should be redacted. I would bet thats not the only law he is breaking.

Trimming a few branches on public land is not a big deal. He said he has talked to dnr and they have never said anything. It's not like he is cutting trees down.
