i recieved my mosin about 10 years ago from big 5 sporting goods, when they were $99. i have hunted white tail with it almost every year since. it is my only rifle. i use winchester 180 grain soft point, and it has never let me down. i even use the cheapo scope big 5 sold for the mosin with a set of .22 scope rings. all of my deer have taken with in 150 yards. i even got my first 10 point this year. i bought the gun based on a video you guys did way back when. i love ir.

a deer is a deer, no matter how you get it. Back in the 80's , when the extended family was bigger, we used to drive wood lots up here in NYS then put the guys that were our best shots on the other end to plug the deer as they came out of the brush/woods

I hunt over corn. It’s legal, it’s food on the table, and it’s a perfect stand still vs them running through the woods so something and getting a gut shot or something. The one I took this week, through and through the heart and died within seconds. That’s how you do it, for food, not sport. Got 50lbs now for me and my family that was free since it was taken on my property.

Even if you don't hunt, you know you have to manage the deer population to keep them healthy. Although I don't hunt anymore I still enjoy watching a good ethical hunt. I really enjoy your videos, gun gripes, meltdowns and your other videos.

The same people that complain about putting corn out have no problem hunting over a food plot or cut/uncut corn field. Putting corn out doesn't guarantee you getting a deer and definitely not a mature buck.

When others have talked about ethical hunt, I ask what is the distance limit. That is when they fall silent. I could beat them and say I am the ethical hunter because I get my deer by putting salt on the tail. Excellent footage. I need to find some land like that.

We put corn on the carport and as we are sitting there, the Doe’s just come up and start eating as we sit there talking. They are pretty much semi-tamed now and are not scared of us. They also love honey buns!!! 😅. Enjoyed your vid as always!

Hunting over food plots is more harvesting than it is hunting and both are perfectly fine. I think people just like to differentiate those two things. As for the haters just ignore them. Have fun doing your thing! Are you gonna age the meat?

Good video like to see more like this as far as the hunting goes do whatever’s easiest some areas don’t have a high deer population it takes an extreme amount of patience to sit and wait for the right deer and unless your sitting 2-300 yards away winds a huge factor in how things play out deer have really good sense of smell and hearing not sure who came up with the idea hunting over bait was easy cause it also takes time to do the baiting

With my very limited deer stalking experience, they seem incredibly touchy to movement and smell as opposed to sounds. When you set up near a game trail and wait you'll hear all types of critters start moving around in the brush - I'm sure a lot of hunters have had the experience of hearing what you think is a monster buck coming from the woods and a squirrel comes hopping out. They just don't have the energy to bolt from everything that makes a noise in the woods, and during rut, it could even be a mate.

I live up towards statesboro its flat i dont think there is such a thing as track and stalk in the low country im not from Georgia but i learned the hunting culture really quick, food plot feeder tree stand it and high deer blind

I use corn or acorn plots for hunting in Texas. Catch more flies with honey as they say.

Where I am hunting over feed is totally illegal. Also it spreads CWD. This season we are banned from even using scents of any kind and we are in a CWD watch zone, no CWD detected yet. Wisconsin has such an issue with CWD that you can't bring one into Mn. unless it has been deboned.

You don’t have to explain yourself to anyone. If it’s legal, have at it. We plant food plots and have a supplemental feed program as well. Over the last 5 years, we’ve brought the average weight on 4 year and older bucks up to around 190. That’s pretty good for north FL. Our does and fawns are healthier, the turkeys benefit from it. If y’all ever want to come down, you’re welcome to come hunt over my bait anytime.

Does Georgia allow taking doe with rifles? Or can you buy doe tags or something? In Tennessee we can only take does during Archery and Muzzleloading Season(s) but you can buy a doe tag i guess.
