Zimbabwe's Mana Pools is one of the best places in Africa to see Wild Dogs. The video take in September 2016 is the story of the Kasanga pack taken over a period of three days. It is a large group with your pups and shows their life and hunting skills including an impala kill. It is dedicated to the hard working Park Rangers who put thier life on the line to protect the animals from poaching which has decimated the wildlife over many years. It is also a recognition of the efforts made by Nick Murray and the other other camp managers who support them by providing vehicles, fuel and food. They do this desp[ite the cost to themsleves and their business despite operating in very difficult circumstances.

Thanks for watching the video. I am not sure I understand what you mean by fake title or the comment about my cameras. Can you please explain more.

You are right in essence but on this occasion they were looking to use the soft mud to cool themselves down.

Really nice video. Im actually heading to volunteer with Wild Dogs in KwaZulu-Natal South Africa next year. Iv been to Africa a couple of times now and have seen the big 5, plus lots of other rare and endangered species but Iv never seen Wild Dogs.

Many thanks for commenting. The wild dogs are very special and relatively tolerant of humans but they move so quickly so whilst it was great seeing them while we were on foot once they start to move it was game over. I am sure you will have a fascinating time with them in South Africa.

Iv just come back from South Africa and I had some amazing encounters with the dogs. We spent allot of time with a pack of 22 in Imfolozi National Park plus three other packs who live there. Certain individuals in each pack had radio collars so we could track them down. They helped us find out where the pack of 22 "Bejie pack" were denning. We went to the den sight most mornings and as the sun rose, the dogs would slowly appear out of the bush and play round the car. Plus we saw puppies in Tembe Elephant Park and saw a small pack of 5 kill an Impala right next to the car in Manyoni Privet Game Reserve.

You’re welcome. She’s truly formidable, being the dominant female of 30 painted wolves (that’s a more recommended name for African wild dogs). Sadly, this April, she passed away.

Another really good video. Thanks for posting & sharing. Love to know what software did you use for the editing etc. I am a Windows User. Also - do you need to convert to MP4 or did the camera do that ...... ? I still need to work out what MP4 is exactly, but it seems ...... Thanks again

Very glad you enjoyed the video. I use a programme called Magix Movie Edit Pro 2015. There is a new version each year so I am already behind! It is very versatile and can be a simple or as complex as you desire. Although I don't use it, it can cope with 4k and multiple camcorders. There are others but I stick with is as it suits my needs and the support offered is very good if you get any problems. I too am a windows user and works well with windows 10. Best wishes

Like all wild animals you have to how them respect but they do not normally see humans as a threat. In Mana Pools they often see humans on foot so to that extent they are habituated. That said you should not try and approach them if they have a kill or are with pups.
