Thank you for this! Always a delight to watch these majestic creatures. It's sad though that they are declining in numbers due to poaching. Sharing the teaser of an upcoming movie about elephant poaching - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJOZgpmhmb1klZo

The life of a male hippo is a brutal one. They must fight to survive. Fortunately there aren't nearly as many males as there are females or there would be enough brawls to start an earthquake. Meanwhile the females just chill out and watch the boys tangle.
@gerrybatch
@gerrybatch Жыл бұрын
You are right about the brutality as shown in my video. But they have ways other than fighting such as spreading dung which I risked and those tusks are very sharp. The hide at Shelton’s camp is great though for eyeball to eyeball video.

@@josephevans9247 it must be wonderful. The nearest I got as you may have seen was to fly alongside a Spit. That was excellent but there must be so much more if you can sit in the Spit. It is possible if you have a few thousand to play with.

@@gerrybatch no unfortunately I don't have that kind of cash lying around .but as you know feeling the rumble of that rolls Royce Merlin kicking over as I sat in the cockpit of the P+51 gunslinger and to feel that power just idling is something to behold .I can't get enough of the merlins .now I've been in B17,sa b+25 and a b+24 not flying of course I couldn't afford that either.ive sat in the cockpit of a f4+u Corsair .I was the first American to be allowed to go aboard the British Vulcan bomber in Cleveland thanks to my late Aunt I was going into my senior year in highschool.i got to meet the entire crew .had pictures with them .they also invited me to dinner that night with them.it was a life experience I still treasure .they were a great group of guys .that was 1980 the Vulcan was new to the RAF.it was an outstanding experience. I love airshows especially the old warbirds

Hello Viti. You are very generous in your comments but really the inspiration for me came from Beverly and Dereck Joubert and their wonderful film called Relentless Enemies which was sited at Duba Plains. My amateur effort is of course not a patch on theirs but they had months to film their production, we only had 3 days but I hope I captured the essence of this wonderful place and as you say those amazing big cats. You could not believe the size of their legs and pads from living in such a watery world. Wonderful stuff. Thanks for watching it and letting me know you enjoyed it.

Just one more person too idle to walk up. I say shut the railway and save the land eroding at the top with all the lazy bastards from getting there. You said you would walk down but I say if you are too damned lazy to walk up you shouldn't be allowed up there in the first place.

Jesus! That last stand of Ringo was tragic. I've only seen one other video of a male lion fighting to his last breath against a buffalo. I wonder if he was just ravaged by disease, or just a starving nomad and not quite all there? The punishment he took, and still not backing down was extraordinary and awful to watch.
