We have been dreaming about buying a property down the coast for many many years and we're so excited to have finally found our dream home. Not only do we love the tranquility of its location but we fell in love with the charm and character of this unique timber home as soon as we laid eyes on it. We have so many ideas, plans and things we want to accomplish in this house but most of this year has just been spent enjoying our new location, slowing down and getting used to rural life. The bones are awesome and can't wait to see how you guys bring it back to life! The wood looks like it would be awesome with a Japanese "shou sugi ban 焼杉板"/ "burnt timber cladding" effect to turn it black. Like a modern farmhouse look

Do you follow Wild Wonderful Off Grid? They did shou sugi ban siding all over their self built A frame. Looks so good but they admit it was a lot of work.

I'm so excited to watch your progress with this home. Dream location! I reckon take down the loft and put in a suspended ceiling hammock instead. Would open up the space and show off the timber ceiling, but also let you sit in it and enjoy the birds eye view.

Super pumped for you guys! This place has all the country vibes I grew up in as a kid and it’s the best, the barns, the wool packing sheds, the stables, all the farms had buildings styled like this exterior and it’s classic countryside vibes. This building, it actually scream “style me like the Wensley”, the Anglesea let us in tour. Such a great house and if you take a few interior principles outta that place, you’ll come up with some unbelievable charm and warmth. But, love the process, nothing like making a house your home. You bloody legends!!

Love Love LOVE your property. We just bought our border collies a property too. Hey if your keen on growing your own food and you want to stay chemical free. You could hire some goats and they will happily munch thru all that blackberry and weed as they neutralise the seeds and fertilise as they go. What a view you guys have. We are putting in a natural pool from Waterscapes australia. Best part of these gorgeous chemical free dog pools is NO FENCES required because they are classified as “Ponds”. Gotta love that. I wish I could post a pic of our super tiny bathroom I just rebuilt which is about the same size as yours. I poured the black concrete bench top and hacked an ikea vanity with tassie oak handles mixed with the copper looks pretty nice. Enjoy guys what heaven you have there.💕

I completely know what you mean about going through phases of excited and overwhelmed! I feel the exact same way with my property which is also a big project.
