@@PanM8 Good to know. My 1940 Knucklehead, reconditioned, is on the block Saturday. I hope Greenie sets the value on Friday to see what mine might get on Saturday. Mine has a lot less history. I bought it 1983 from the previous owner who titled the bike in 1942 and rode to 1950. I'm guessing mine has a lot more original parts and pieces. I wish I had an email for Todd so that I could send him pictures from when I bought it. I have no idea if the light blue color on it when I bought it was original color or not. Thanks again.

Todd, are you going to be at the auction? I will have my 1940 Knucklehead on the block Saturday afternoon, check it out on the auction website lot listing. You have found some nice OEM replacement products to get close to original. I bought mine in 1983 from the family of the owner titled in 1942. At most, I am the third owner and I have a copy of that title. When I bought the bike it had a 1950 license plate on it so only 10 years of possible changes. Although I restored this bike and it does not have original paint, I hope you have a chance to see my bike that hasn't gone through many owners and subsequent, who knows what, changes.

Tons if invoiced, letters from the factory that documents everything I've said.

Special order section on the order form allowed the dealer to ask for anything out of the normal check box. Any plating, any color. Totally forgotten knowledge until I bought this motorcycle and found the documentation
@HuntingHarleys4 жыл бұрын
I should add in. Prior to the documentation I uncovered and plastered all over this KZbin channel, most people thought pre war you couldn't even get chrome, that all chrome was "after it was built" because the catelog bikes didn't have any. Prior to WWII, the USA and the world was still gripped by the Great Depression. We, the USA, would not get out of that until AFTER WWII. So people humoriously thought that HD, during the leanest times in modern history, would simply allow the dealers all that extra money. The fact is, HD wanted all that custom build money. HD was, circa 1926-42, the largest custom bike manufacturer the world was ever seen. ALL forgotten by the "experts". The proof is all over this channel through the videos I have uploaded. Watch the videos and learn.

El asiento está instalado de fábrica correcto. ¿Quizás estás acostumbrado a helicópteros más modernos en lugar de motocicletas originales? Esta es una máquina realmente rara. Está a la venta en Mecum's este enero de 2020. Nunca lo he comenzado.
