A little trick... when you have the car on the scales, lean in your seat as far as you can to the right and the left, and check out how much that affects the cross weight of the kart. Then if you are tight or loose, you can lean in the seat to help correct it. Kart racing is just like late model racing, except everything is micro scale, so just that small weight shift can make a difference! Raced karts for a few years, and won a LOT of races by having the kart dialed in.

Jack Field I used to race at this track and pretty much won every time I ran out there in the heavy class... I have never moved myself around in the seat to adjust the setup... if you set the kart up the way you race then why should you move yourself around? Then you just messed up the whole setup... that’s my opinion...
@Skybolt2115 жыл бұрын
@@racingpink2029 Of course you scale the kart to the way you race. Duh. The only reason to lean while it's on the scale is so he can see how much that actually changes the setup. I guess you've never run any long races where the track tightens up due to the track gettin rubbered up, or the car changes because of heat in the tires, etc. But if you start noticing your kart is getting loose or tight during the race, why wouldn't you do something to help it out there? It would be stupid not to. I ran 2 different classes. In Limited, where you have much more power, you can miss the setup a little and win. In stock Heavy, power is at a premium, and a tight kart will scrub off speed in a hurry. It's impossible to get the setup perfect every time, if for no other reason that the track can change between heat and feature races.

With such a regid frame and suspension, unlike the other classes of race cars, taking a # from LF will soften RR add a # to LF will put more pressure on the RR,you can test this theory by just taking a square metal frame and put several same thickness of shims under all corners then remove 1 or 2 from a corner and see what happens to the opposite corner.
@ric1276105 жыл бұрын
@@michaellukasiewicz9683 I would agree with your theory if your racing on a hard surface. On dirt , however, its a soft surface and always changing. Unlike pavement, dirt-track racing pushes the soft dirt to the top of the turn. By letting air out of the front left tire flatten the tire's surface where it meets the track. In doing so would cause that tire to stay in the racing groove. By adding air to the right front tire would allow that tire to slide better. Keeping in mind both tires are still turning.

Keep it hard inside during the apex of the corner and feather it getting in, soon as you hit that apex you need to be wide open on the exit. Callahan’s a rough track in general. And the other racers aren’t scared to tear your stuff up even if your racing clean. Only way to keep from getting ran over there is just being the fastest one. Come to Crossroads Motorplex. The staff makes good calls on the races and the track takes rubber pretty well

Go Kart Pro Tip: don’t even use the breaks. Just trust me. I win plenty of races where my foot never even touched the break till the race was over 💀. And if you’re fighting the wheel that much you needa change some things other than the gear brother.

Need you some black sand mixed in with another prep! Don’t brake unless you have to and don’t enter the turns so low! Smooth long turns are better than jerking the wheel midway through the turns

ok my guy i hope you see this because it will really help you out, wash and prep the tires after every time you go out, heat the tires if you can as well, get used to having your seat laid back. never ever use breaks. just burp the throttle and get back into it. if someone in front of you hold the throttle and use them as a break, rubbing is racing. stay low don't give em a gap because they will make the gap bigger by moving you out of the way.

center off looked great you were gaining on em there......maybe wider arc on entry..... keep at it

Since you say you keep riding the brake, you should put a big bright red sticker, somewhere you can see it, that says “foot off brake” :)

Quick question is this class cheaper than running tag 125 or shifters? Or it is just a preference thing?

Oh lol one more thing. Increase ur tire pressure and prep the right side more then the left . The increase in tire pressure will allow the kart to role more free plus as funny as it sounds it sticks better. Lol this works really well up north any ways . But this is 5 years in karts clone and uas. But. Good job keep plugging u r getting there.
