I was watching the start of this and listening to Joseph say he needed more track time etc.. I don't think you need to doubt yourself, you are a very talented driver and everytime you get in that car you learn more about and get better and better with every race. Your crew are hands down dedicated, passionate, and are all about retaining as much information as they can to help you go as fast as you can and also use it when they are on the track is well, seat time and knowing the track are very important components to a successful race day but talent is also a big part of it and you have plenty of that.. I love this channel.. I film/livestream speedway in New Zealand as my dad owns a TV company and we travel our country we also supply our live stream to floracing in America and they feed it to America maybe you could watch it sometime tbats even if you read this comment... anyway if you do thank you for taking the time out and looking forward to the next one

@howardwest27073 жыл бұрын
Awesome run and I agree with what one of your followers said about the announcer. I heard the same comment and was a bit disappointed. But what it does say is they don't like outsiders coming in and giving their boys a run for their money. First time at this track with little experience for night 3 and you all came in 5th. That's pretty dang good if you asked me. And with all the yellows maybe you just got unlucky and your tires sealed over towards the end. Prior to that last yellow you were still strong which leads me to believe one or more sealed over on you.
@howardwest27073 жыл бұрын
@@tomhutchins1046 there are theories as to what causes it but most think it is due to the heat cycling of a tire. Something im the compound basically glazes over the tire reducing grip. On my midget you could get a good idea of tire wear based on the feathering of the tire. Even with working the surface of an old tire for practice wouldn't do much if the tire was too old. It too would get a shiny look after a few practice laps.
@howardwest27073 жыл бұрын
@@tomhutchins1046 yeah I couldn't afford new tires every race so I was at a disadvantage. I always watched for a feathering of the corners of the patches and obviously indications of too much heat causing blistering or blowouts of patches. Many of the tracks I ran were fairly decent on tires but others would chunk them up so had to be careful when grooving or else patches would get chunked up pretty good. A few times I had signs of good feathering but some waviness on the patches when told me they were getting hot for sure. That happened to be on a harder 44 compound tire at a dry slick and somewhat abrasive track. But the tire came in towards the middle of the race and didn't eat it up too much.

If only the 2nd night of racing happened, HTF may have found the final combination to win. GREAT TEAM EFFORT! And folks. this was being done in low 40's weather with a breeze that dropped the "feels like" temp into the 30's. Wrenches feel like they stick to your hands. Qverall, progress on the south's fastest half mile. Look out Volusia when they return! How about this Speedweeks? Great seeing you live here outside Daytona.

Gotta say, along with Joseph & everyone else ---- Friday night was needed!!! Think the end result would have been bettered by possibly a win!!! A 5th spot out of 56!?! Not bad at all. And Joshua is on to somethin' there --- that gap and the other appearances (read as "aero") may very well have been the culprit since the RF didn't say what was anticipated. Those bumps in 1 & 2, if not hit perfectly on entry and through, really upset the car. Regardless -> Nice showing DRIVER & guys --- mighty fine work to all the crew. Oh, that's the line Jesse liked to run (mostly) -- think he'd do very well there. It was nice being in the car and knowing exactly where Joseph was running. --- And hey, ain't nobody faster than Jesse across that pond, huh? Proud of you guys, for sure. #HTFNation #DirtOnTwitch #DirtCarLift (man that thang is sweet!) Be Safe

Well what I recall from Wayne Brooks stated about running at Bristol in 2000. That the car felt lighter as if it was taking off the ground as well as his head was swaying back and forth going down the straights. Although that should not be as huge of an issue this going around with the containment seat, along with the head and neck restraint. Although inspecting chassis parts like the spindles, for cracking is a must. So my recommendation is spend the money on new chassis parts like spindles, trailing arms, himes, etc. Because if a chassis part is questionable now. It will be a problem on the track at Bristol.

We use to race NASCAR supers modifier's at the San Jose speedway. The supers were like a sprint car except for the bottom rails were 2'x4' tubing from the firewall back. We ran wings and steel blocks a mechanical Fuel injection and Alcohol. San Jose was almost flat we ran 2 to 3 inch of rollout. We were one of the top teams. Now when we ran banked track we ran a lot more rollout some times more than 10 inches. One time we ran a track that ran only one year. the banking was so steep that on a red flag there was a sprint car and their tire went flat sitting in the middle of the corner and the car just feel over. No kidding it feel over. The track was cut into the ground so the walls were about 6 to 7 feet tall. The entire walls were made out of stacks of tires. We ended up running 20 inches of rollout. Not just use but a lot of the fast guys were. It was the craziest race we ever ran. We never went back. Thanks for the video I was getting excited when you got up second. You did great. Working through the problems you had is what make the differents between good and great. How did Dirty daddy do I saw his stuff next to you guys.
