Every album has its masterpiece, The Nomad is Brave New World's masterpiece. Great song and great reaction 👍

How people say this is a bad song? I know a friend who says this is the best Iron Maiden song. Everyone has an opinion but to say this song is bad, this is bullshit not opinion.

Not a bad song, but for me not the best on this album. It's all about preference though.

The nomad is a killer epic but wait for the closing song: The Thin Line Between Love and Hate. It includes crazy vocals and solos. It could be your new fav, too. The next song is Out of the Silent Planet, as usual a great one

After the Blood Brothers reaction I was convinced he would hate Thin Line but I'm not sure anymore now that he's gotten more used to the reuninon Maiden sound. Absolutely love that song.

This is one of those "hidden gems" from Maiden, plenty of them in their albums and not necessary the most played in concerts. Another great thing about one of my favorite bands. Up the Irons!!!

"The Nomad" has this Mediterranean/ North African music vibe that classic songs "Kashmir" (by Led Zeppelin) and 'Stargazer' (by Rainbow) had.

The Eastern Riffs and solos were just sublime and unceasing on this. It’s one of those songs that transports you to another realm. One of their best and most original songs ever IMO. I hadn’t heard it for some time and I was thinking the thin line between love and hate was my favourite. But I think this actually may just edge it.

I only listened to this song this past weekend to start finishing Iron Maiden's discography because I have a bad habit of skipping songs and not finishing an album. It blew me away because it was so heavy and all guitarists went off and the band solo was some of their best written work. I'm still riding the high of this song and had to see your reaction and I was not disappointed lol

The mid section of this track was imo respectfully taken from another song called Life’s Shadow by Beckett, it’d be pretty sick if you checked it out to see what the original track is as well as what part of it they used. Can’t wait for you to get to The Thin Line. Gonna be sick (Edit) forgot to also mention that there are some lyrics on Hallowed be Thy Name that were also ripped from the Beckett track

The lyrics and atmosphere gives me the same feel as To Tame a Land… which as we know was about the novel Dune, so it would be awesome if one or both songs could be on the soundtrack for the movie sequel (modern version)!

Another unbelievable track, and definitely a contender for the best on the album. Personally there may be one more contender for best on the album which is The Thin Line Between Love and Hate, although Out of the Silent Planet is a banger as well. I think you mentioned in your live streams that you were gonna do Rock in Rio after this. One comment I saw, and definitely agree with, is that you must must must watch the videos that have the crowd, and not just the album cover videos. The crowd interaction/participation is insane! Love your reactions to these songs!

If you are able to watch the rock in rio concert, i would like to recommend a youtube user "HeavyMatterCulture". That channel has the best quality version of that concert on youtube. His upload of "The Wicker Man" also cuts out the intro "Arthurs farewell", which has some flashing lights fyi.. He has uploaded every song seperatly and here is the playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PLmCYMRaayLcwveDGPOdZf0eGMy4F1b4Xs If you do use this playlist, notice that between "Ghost of the navigator" and "Wrathchild", they play "Brave New World" put it was blocked by KZbin. You can find that video seperatly on Iron Maiden's own KZbin page.

Greetings and Love from Germany again. I just love this song. Because maiden shows that they remain true to their very own and typical maiden sound despite new, versatile changes. Agreed. Another banger on the album but hey, as someone who as always been into prog rock and metal, I am slightly partial towards the longer tracks (that's not to say I don't like shorter songs though). Most mainstream music is usually at a run time between 3-4 minutes due to the artists being forced to make it that way from record execs so the songs get regular air time on mainstream radio stations. It's also because a large majority of the public are subjected to these shorter songs and therefore have grown accustomed to them being the norm. It ain't that way in a lot of the metal community though as they choose to not bend the knee and conform to those rules....or any rules really (unless they sell out for more cash). Anyway, the only reason I still prefer 'Dream of Mirrors' over this one is due to 'The Nomad' having the distinct similarity to the end of Beckett's song 'Life's Shadow' (as mentioned in some other comments) and 'Dream of Mirrors' therefore being a little more unique. It's not the first time Maiden was taken to court for plagiarism as i believe it also actually happened with 'Hallowed Be Thy Name'. Look mate, if you are actually enjoying some of the longer tracks now, that's great as going back a bit, you had a concern about them and stated that you're not really a big fan of lengthy songs due to the possible repetition and you know what, that's fair enough. I think as you keep travelling along your rock and metal journey you will grow to definitely appreciate the longer compositions a lot more. I can't remember how much Tool you've checked out but for me, that would be another band I would recommend doing chonologically as they also get more proggy through their evolution and it totally works. In my opnion, Iron Maiden and Tool would have to be two of the best bands I've ever seen live and I've seen a lot. Metallica and AC/DC are also not too far behind. 😉

Nice song as a whole, although never liked the middle eastern motives, I think it's just overused. The biggest problem is that the instrumental part as it turned out, is not necessarily their own and was "borrowed" from another band, even went to court because of it. Anyway, that part is nice indeed. The inspiration came from here, which is a bloody good song on its own: kzbin.info/www/bejne/noWlnn-jjt9pd5I
@metalmark12142 жыл бұрын
Yep, Becket Life's Shadow, but I'd call it ripped off, Harris and Murray paid a $100k settlement for that and "borrowing" verses for Hallowed By Thy Name.
@metalmark12142 жыл бұрын
It's good song. I like the middle Eastern sound it has, like a Powerslave had an Egyptian sound to it. It was pointed out to me that Iron Maiden ripped off a Beckett song "Life Shadows" for the instrument portion and a couple verses in Hallowed Be Thy Name and paid a $100k settlement out of court. (See Iron Maiden Settles Hallowed Be Thy Name Lawsuit on Loudwire website. The ripoff sound from Beckett song starts at 6:04 here to 8:20. Funny Hurm like the part that was the ripped off part, lol. Still like the title track and Dream of Mirrors best along with Out of the Silent Planet for this album. Give this one an 8/10.
@helgaratbone16912 жыл бұрын
The Parchment also has that middle eastern feel. I absolutely love the guitar leads on all of them! Its a modulation that fits perfect for their sound and play-styles!
@jingtroc232 жыл бұрын
I have had unpopular opinions on your other videos but i'll stand by it and say it again, dude, there's a group of Maiden fans that have really bad taste in Maiden songs. When i first heard this album this was a highlight for me, reminded me of old school Maiden. They have a song called Empire of Clouds, to me it's awful, boring, but these same Nomad disliking people call Empire of Clouds a master piece, maybe you will like it, to me it's a very boring song, worst on the album. edit: just see you mention also about it being like old Maiden, and that's the thing, a lot of Maiden fans started to prefer the boring lame stuff with really slow boring riffs, wait til you get to Book of souls album, awful lol yet they absolutely looooove it
@DM-rc4yu2 жыл бұрын
Don't you think it's kinda ironic that you speak of people with "bad taste in Maiden songs" but then say Empire is an awful, boring song which along with the entire Book of Souls album only "they" like? Because "they" in this case would be the majority. Most Maiden fans like or at least not dislike Empire of the Clouds so you're basically saying most fans have really bad taste and you don't.
