The crew of a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran finally take their boat from the Caribbean into the Pacific ocean! This episode describes everything you need to know about transiting through the canal, including expenses and line handler details.
SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged 2012 Lagoon 450 Catamaran bought in Tortola, BVI at the beginning of 2018. Colin and his friend spent 4 months getting her seaworthy, before setting sail across the Caribbean. Follow our journey as we continue to fix her and eventually circumnavigate the globe!

To bad I can’t like it multiple times. I’ve enjoyed the binge to catch up to this point. I started a couple weeks ago watching some overlanding video that I thought was pretty sweet. Then I figured out I was a peasant worrying about where I could go on land because you (Colin) and your crews can explore so much more. Been watching through the videos starting at the beginning. I was looking forward to this episode. I went through the canal in 2019. It was so unbelievably hot and miserable that day. Once we got in the locks I was so geeked out I forgot all about the heat. What an incredible experience! Watching Parlay go through, I felt the excitement you were feeling, it brought me right back! One cool thing is we were so close to the wall that when the water lowered we were able to reach out and touch the wall!

I am amazed that it takes 55,000 gallons of fresh water to fill the lochs, even more so that they have never run out. This was the best video of going through the Panama that I have ever seen.

I've been watching your videos for the past couple weeks and enjoying them. Anyway, I just wanted to say I went through the Panama Canal in 1966 aboard the USS Noxubee AOG-56 when I was 19 years old. We did a fresh water wash down while in the lake between canals. I'd say your journey was way more fun then mine was though. lol

At arrival ( in the 80's) the chef enginer came down to the enginroom and say...men..i have one good news and one bad. The bad one is that you will take a piston up today...and the good one is if you finish before 18.00 ther will be an speed boat to cristobal ready...he..we worked our as of and when ashore ( your video made me remenber it again ..thanks !)
