Thank you so much for the army fixed wing representation, my father last Friday just got out of 34 years in the army as a CW5 and rotary and fixed wing pilot!

Well, my guys here with the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation are looking in the very near future to do such a lift up to NC. Things are looking pretty bad. Maybe we’ll see you guys in the AO there, or if not your comrades in arms. Safe flying there fellas!

We’d love to help. But since we’re reserve and federally funded. We get called last. The national guard is usually first up

0:15 I don’t know why I relate to this so much I got no issue being at the controls of a plane but sitting in the back always makes me a weird mix or nervous and jealous

what did you mean by "beating the heck out of your back"?
@damion_baileyАй бұрын
Low frequency vibrations from a helicopter for a couple thousand hours will wear on your back. But the time you retire, very high chance you’ll have back problems

Fixed Wing flying in the army is a good gig. Use to be after ya flew some “dirty boot” time in rotors ya could apply for selection into the FW corps. Not anymore, it’s awarded in flight school and some army pilots won’t see a rotor in a field environment at all. Either way, flying in the army is a good deal and better for a career pilot then a staff officer.

Do you get nervous being in the back? I assume not liking going through clouds has something to do with the risk of spatial disorientation? Maybe I'm way off.

If this were Australia, they'd mobilise 1 helo so the politicians can get a photo op. Then fly out having done nothing to help.
