it seems to me that surge can be enormous but if it comes in fast and drains fast...your in better shape than if less surge stays around for days..if .the toxic water hangs around getting into every nook and cranny..I will take 20 feet of in and out rather than even 3 feet of debris tainted flood water that I can wade through for a week...crying and holding my nose

THis is one fo the reasons I got my Jeep Gladiator (Rubicon): For "inclement weather" such as flooding and driving over debris in the road (watching for sharp metal and nails of course!). In Colorado though, it's snow/blizzards the Jeep needs to get through. Still, it can do both. ;-) -- BR
