One of the most intense and heartbreaking videos I have seen from Erwin.. . My husband and I live in Stoney Creek. And 4 years ago we drove through Erwin and I remember telling my husband how beautiful I thought it was... We never imagined that something like this would happen. ..!! I know that people are still in shock mode from going through this Natural Disaster..But what I have seen while living down here is that people here are close knit and will help one another no matter what!! ❤ We have got to remember that we are Americans! And this is our home. Our beautiful State. It's going to take a few years, but I know that the good and beautiful people of Tennessee will rebuild their small towns and communities!! I know that!! ❤ We just have to keep our heads up and never give up hope! And if you can, help one another out!! If we ALL come together we can certainly do this!! God Bless the Amazing people of Eastern Tennessee!!! ❤🙏🇺🇲❤

They were going to schedule me on Friday but i had something else to do and they had an appointment open on the 30th and i asked for that one, when i found out about the flood i just sat down and bawled when i realized that i would have been there if i hadnt of had to babysit my 2 youngest grandsons! Thanks for this. Do you have drone footage of the devastation in Washington County? The 107 bridge near the Lamar convenience center was taken out along with a whole slew of other bridges in Washington County. People forget that water is the most potent force on this planet. The Appalachians were once the height of the Himalayan mts and over millions of years have been reduced to what you see now thru water and wind.

Erwin is my hometown. The flood took so many houses along the river. The radio station is completely gone. This footage revealed the depth of the scouring of the soil. So much material removed and taken downstream. I knew it would be bad when I saw another video of this area during the flood, the volume and velocity of the "rapids" moving across the land destroyed so much. I am surprised any structures survived. The truly sad part is seeing the industrial complex where many lost their lives trying to escape the flood.

Why are they adding to environmental damage by burning huge piles of debris?! I am no hard core environmentalist. This seems like a lack of any common sense.
@Offroadviking24 күн бұрын
My guess....and completely just a guess...there's just so much debris and so much that has to be done this is the most efficient way of getting everything cleaned up and construction done. This is just a small glimpse of the widespread damage. It's like this everywhere you go in western NC and parts of East Tn.

@audreylowe2941 at this point for East TN the main location for donations is Bristol Motor Speedway. You may want to call ahead though and see what needs they have currently. Because of the great outpouring of individuals donating so many things there are some items they aren't taking and other that they are. And the needs change from day to day. Thanks so much for helping the region 🙏 The impact is extremely widespread.
