Given the "back turn" attitude these victims are facing everywhere, they turn is absolutely ridiculous and pure greed driven evil as far as im concerned. There are now reports of municipalites along with residents in some areas who actually survived this terrible ordeal unscathed are coming forward against allowing any kind of temporary shelter, be it tiny homes , sheds, etc that these victims are trying to place on their property temporarily to keep from freezing to death to be allowed. Using building codes and other zoning crap to fight against them. Their claim is that allowing this will greatly reduce their property values. Am I missing something here? These people are more worried about their freakin property values than sustaining and preserving human lives. What kind of person or municipality does that. How have we allowed our Great Nation to deteriorate to this 3rd world barbaric status we are experiencing right now in NC and Tennessee. The question is, what are We The People going to do about it. They are crying they cannot get unemployment, but that is because they were working 'off the books' and not paying federal taxes. The guy complaining was NOT paying income taxes or unemployment taxes for the past 9 years, please listen to what he is saying. Being a self-employed realtor does not exempt him from paying state and federal income taxes. He thinks he should get unemployment now only because he paid taxes 9 years ago. Very sad, but this entire region has always been poor and many people there were NOT paying income taxes and instead working off the books. The individual States control Unemployment and no state is going to pay anyone unemployment insurance to anyone when the person had not been paying income taxes. Anyone who was paying into the State unemployment quickly gets unemployment insurance when they are unemployed. FEMA has absolutely NOTHING to do with collecting unemployment which is a State run agency.

I know people in Mooresville, NC (25 miles north of Charlotte) who made a claim with FEMA & they were immediately approved for 6 months paid for in a hotel, and $30,000 to make repairs to their home (which may or may not have been caused by the hurricane).
