Yo Weems, Keep it original . I started riding 1965, 10 years old. But I remember this triumph well, everybody around the area seemed to own one except me. When I turned 13 I had saved up enough money working on the farm to take my first baby step into Motorsickle ownership instead of riding everybody else's. My friend Audie had a 67 TR6. I tried to buy it from him every single year till he passed just two months ago. Still in his garage. RIP Audie.

Given the backstory of this wonderful machine it definitely deserves a full restoration. Now myself, I would build it to be a scrambler. Seeing as how this bike fought a hurricane and came out almost unscathed, this bike has earned the right to ride where ever, so it can kick nature's ass again when desired.

I had a 1968 Bonnie when I was 18... that's 47 years ago... wait! What! How did that happen? Anyway, given its rarity and how complete it is, would you consider a standard restoration?

As it’s all there and original, a restoration would get my vote! Wouldn’t have to be a show winner/concours but a riders bike. If it was a bitsa and parts missing and not original, I’d go sled/scrambler!

That's such a sad story, it's good to hear all survived,.. As for the motorcycle it deserves a complete rebuild, however it's patina and lasting legacy would be erased, let the machine show it's survival scars and just rebuild the engine and replace necessary parts for a safe ride, just give all of the rusted metal parts a light rub over with wire wool and a generous coating of your favourite engine oil,.. Results: a reliable iconic motorcycle with attitude and unforgettable history.

When I was a kid and I mean 5th and 6th grade I think I had a motorcycle magazine that compared the Bonneville to a BSA lightning and I wanted that Bonneville so badly are you should keep the picture open on my bookcase as a kid and never got one did ride a couple of them, was seduced by a Honda then buy a Kawasaki Z1 1973, yamaha's couple of Harley's a Buell M2 in 1999. More Harleys, but I always wanted a stock 67 Bonneville. Restore it back to original is my vote. And I know you are the guy to do it Mr Weems
