@Peridot Reign not true. Hurricane Laura hit and newly built brick homes demolished in my area. You obviously don't know how strong a category 4 or 5 hurricane is.
That's a scary storm I've never been in a hurricane and hopefully I never will. Prayers for everyone in this monster storm.

Usually the animals are fairlybsmart about moving away from a storm. At least the eggs and fledgling are done and big enough to fly away.

They can sense the danger..many animals wouldve been in hiding before the Hurricane arrived. But still, its sad to think if some poor animals perished cause of the strong wind and rain.

Absolutely stunning capture! Beautiful! About half-way through it I said to myself, “This has got to be the very best presentation of the pure power of a storm I’ve ever seen” - and I’ve seen a lot of them. Amazing sound, too. I felt like I was right in it but protected from it. It was almost relaxing. My heart goes out to everyone having to deal with it. It’s amazing how something so exquisitely beautiful can be so horribly terrifyingly deadly and destructive.

No. It's very hot in these areas. The Hurricane gains power and momentum when crossing warm waters. Closer to land, usually, the higher the temp.

The rain is coolish , stings like your being pelted with small rocks . I’ve experienced it way to many times . Today was the worst I’ve ever been through . My last two rough ones were Andrew 1992 and Katrina 2005
