And when you consider the only reason they got all this snow, or why they didnt get double this- is the upper air jet stream, which if it changes path for ANY reason at all can bury a region in snow or cause crop destroying drought in a region that formerly enjoyed great crop growing climate. People don't have any idea how fragile that balance really is, and how little it would take to alter that jet stream's path permanently! Maps of Africa from the 1500s show big long rivers where the bone dry Sahara desert is to-day! it changed very rapidly for some unknown reason since the 1500s

Lake effect snow has a different amount of moisture and packing. It's heavier and harder to get through even with snow tires. The problem is, it insulates and freezes the moisture on pavement to create ice. Put those three factors together during the storm and the results are in the video. When it's over, temperature and conditions change allowing easier removal and driving. JUST STAY PARKED.

As a result especially on the night everyone started to actually walk to the shops by foot and people actually started talking too each other in the queues, being sociable, not like in our self isolation of our cars beeping the horns at each other. It was like going back 50/60 years before everyone started using cars even for small a journey.

As an ex-owner op I must say ; if you're an over the road driver and you get stuck in a lake effect dump area -that you knew was coming, either you're an idiot or your dispatcher is.Look at all those road trucks ! The "dump" area isn't that big; get thru it,or get out of it....but don't get stuck in it, cause now you're just stuck doin' nuthin',makin' nuthin'.

I was wondering the same. And I don't get why people are trying to remove snow from their driveways. like for what? Are they planning on going somewhere? it seems pointless clearing the driveway when they know they can't get out and drive on the bad roads. so what's the point of doing all that extra work for nothing? 🤷🏾♀️

Keep working at cleaning it. Half hour shovel rest two hours etc. It needs to be moved before it turns to ice with A freeze. Ambulances n fire trucks post snow will still be needed. Don't want five feet plus snow in the way.

@jeffreywang76656 ай бұрын
Snow can make it safer for pedestrians in a few ways. Firstly, it can cushion falls, reducing the risk of injury. Additionally, it can slow down vehicle traffic, making drivers more cautious and aware of pedestrians. Also, fresh snow can provide better traction, reducing the risk of slipping on icy surfaces.

I lived in Easter Washington state and each year I’d get 12 to 15 feet of snow, my long driveway was like a tunnel. It would snow feet overnight. Buy a good roof rake for your home, studded tires and have a great truck (Toyota Tundra) and get ready for the ride. Always pack warm clothing and food with you. Stay safe everyone

Up North!! Always pack a snow shovel, bag of play sand, some candy bars, and a couple bottles of water for winter with a couple of blankets. Take out in the spring and refresh again in the fall. Always drive a four wheel drive vehicle with clearance and fog lights and in the winter keep your tank filled up. Careful if you have diesel that it doesn’t freeze up around zero F.
