I loved the fact that you kept your mumsy comfortable and entertained while all hell was going on outside. I hope that she is still going strong

That was the goal, thank you! She’s 102 and a half now, still going strong, still watching movies in her chair daily 😅

Excellent footage, story telling and production. A+. We fled west from Ponchatoula Sunday afternoon as the first band was hitting. We got back home the next morning. No house damage and lots of tree damage. My brother in Kenner lost part of his roof. So did my friend in Destrehan.

Hello again! This video is so different to your travel vlogs - we loved it though! Very documentary style. I actually experienced a hurricane in Australia in 2011 which was meant to be category 4 - it was super scary but the wind actually decreased unexpectedly as it drew closer to land. Gatsby looked a little scared 🥺 I definitely was sitting on the edge of my seat when the wind changed direction - and that night wind was something ELSE! I’m so glad nobody in your family got hurt 😔

Hi, thank you! Glad the storm you experienced tapered off before reaching you. This was definitely a surreal experience, nature’s power on full display! We were very fortunate compared to what some others went through. Wishing you both a happy new year! 🎆

@@JamesPuente Nature is so 🔥!! It’s raw power is very overwhelming sometimes but awesome to experience (when relatively comfortable and safe 😅) We hope you have a wonderful New Year also!! Catch you in 2022 ☺️

im pretty sure you guys did get near or at hurricane force winds, but only cat 1 as the inner eyewall stayed out of the NOLA metro. You guys lucked out becuase your area would be down a lot of houses if ida turned. Still, winds reached just a few mph from cat 2 damaging and downing trees and even some rooves.
