Hurricane Idalia, Mental & Physical Preparation, Jax Beach, Florida

Come along with me as I mentally and physically prepare for the outer bands of Hurricane Idalia. We are located on the Atlantic Coast, and Idalia will be hitting the Gulf Coast. However, we still need to be prepared for rain and winds, and all the worries and stress that go along with one of these powerful storms. Join me as we visit Cinotti’s Bakery - a hurricane tradition - and buy some needed storm fuel - donuts. We also pre-ordered 4 hurricane donuts to pick up the next morning as Idalia comes ashore. We then check out the City of Jacksonville Beach building to see if their hurricane shutters are up. And then a quick stop at the beach in Jax Beach. The Cone of UnCertainty really is a thing, and any, even minor, changes or ‘wobbles’ mean an entirely different outcome for communities in the path of the storm. I have many questions, and many worries, as a hurricane is ready to hit our state. The destruction associated with any one of these storms is very upsetting. And to see our beautiful slice of paradise in distress really does break my heart. But with stress and worry, I might counteract that with some lighthearted humor. I hope you enjoy spending some time with me as I get ready for being home the next day.
