Thank you very much, sirs, for posting this. You've helped a lot of people by allowing us to assess the extent of damage to our houses. It was comforting to see that it's not as bad as what those poor folks in Mexico Beach are dealing with. And now we have a much better idea of what we need to do to get ours secured and stable. This is really, really appreciated.

Lawrence I'm terribly sorry for your losses. Do you know of any local organizations that have been set up to assist the displaced victims of Michael? For example GoFundMeAccounts, Bank Accounts set up for the Victims. Amazon lists set up for items needed to help you out until homes are repaired etc? There are many people in the US and around the world that want to donate DIRECTLY to you and not go through national organizations. These types of Grass Roots campaigns are still very successful for the volcano victims in Hawaii. If you know of someone's name can you pls leave it with me so I can get the word out to the public? Or if you know someone local that might be interested in undertaking this type of necessary dedicated could you please leave me some information. Maybe a church or something...anything to help. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing this footage! We were able to locate our family beach house and confirm that it is still standing. Money Bayou looks mostly intact.

Thank you for the video!!! Bosco Belle on St. George Island seemed to survive pretty well. It has a metal roof but the house to the west right next-door has roof damage. We were there just three days before the hurricane hit and had perfect weather the whole week before!

Thank you for posting this video. Some context. The video begins further to the west - where the windfield was consistently more intense, so you see more roof damage - then less as you head east, but the storm surge was around 10-12 feet everywhere in this video. I have a beachfront home on St George and am familiar with the damage and recovery. The island is going to survive quite well and will be back to full strength by February. Same cannot be said for the folks to our west, where the winds near Cat 5.

Glad to see a lot of those huge beach front houses were built on stilts and mostly seemed to survive early in the video.

I honestly think they should build a walkway OVER the dunes instead of through it. It looks like most of the dunes held up well because of that. If you cut through the dunes all it does is let the water wash them out.

Sojourner it’s stupidly at its best. It’s like living under a rock ledge with cracks in it, the question is not “Will it fall and crush my house?” It’s “When” Build out of 100% Concrete with 200 MPH windows, everyone on the direct coast line anywhere Eastern USA. Also 20 feet above sea level to avoid storm surge. Because if your neighbor builds incorrectly, his crap blows all over the place causing damage.

On all the videos I have seen, it looks like metal roofed homes survived best.

My careful observations of this rather tragic scene inform me that *_yellow road paint_* holds up very admirably in hurricane conditions. Furthermore, it seems that the average family consists of Mom, Dad, and about 15 kids. There are certain benefits in living in a camper van.

yes thank you for letting them see their homes that they have probably just made big money off of due to Insurance you will have to be a fool not to insure your house when it's right here on the banks of a hurricane which happens almost every season whatever At first I felt sorry for these people but then I realized they put these homes here to make money put a home here get flood insurance and wait that's all they have to do good game though good investment I'm learning something here
