Americans. Low winter driving skills cuz of rare exposure. Cars that are little more then sleds with steering wheels. Not enough fear to slow down. But most importantly. Summer tires, and no snow chains. The perfect storm. Google winter roads in Norway. Or winter roads in Sweden. It's 100% possible to drive SAFELY in these conditions. Which isn't looking too bad at all

When the roads get this bad,what is so important that people feel that they just have to get out and drive.

In California? In Democrat ruled land, everything has a price, so how many inspectors had to be paid off in tens of thousands of dollars before they would allow harming the snow and anything living underneath? Without their payments, they would consider individual snow flakes to be endangered. With massive payments, they would consider homeless on the rails to be a "necessary cost of progress for America's infrastructure"!

I have confidence in my own winter driving skills. It's the other fools who think they can drive on ice and snow that I'm most scared of !!!

I'm not sure why so many people were sitting there in big SUVs with 4 wheel drive just waiting in line. Push the button on the dash and drive through it. If this were 1997 I'd be driving a Ford Crown Vic with snows on it through there. Ridiculous.
