👍 Great graphics and presentation at a slower speed shown, so I cold actually see my location ☔️ and the progression through time. 🌈Also appreciate the slower speech. Other people are talking so fast just to get through each chart and move on to another person at a map. you don’t always hear all the information! It’s helpful to know what to expect! Thank You for your calm demeanor. I had to shut the other channels off, it was getting too stressful. God Bless everyone watching. Keep praying! 🙏

She did and excellent job of explaining everything so clearly...she does her homework! I wish she was weather woman in my area. Milton is going to cause terrible tragedy thru Florida. Combining tornadoes, floods, wind and storm surge, there will be tremendous damage and maybe loss of life. Hope this is the last one this year. 🖤😪🙏

Air goes from high to low pressure. Hurricanes have very low pressure, so more air wants to try and get to the center (the eye). The lower the pressure is, the faster the air will try and get there, meaning stronger winds. Milton has had some of the lowest pressures we've seen from Atlantic hurricanes.

I was looking a few days and thinking about evacuating, but the list of shelters I seen, were at schools, I don't feel safe in rooms with 50 or more people, and could be there for a week, I also seen them talking about trying to get a $69 a night at Rosen Inn, which would be fine had I had the money and I was on second floor or higher, I'm on the second floor in my apartment, I think going to the shelters would have doubled my anxiety and I feel safer in my apartment and being near my neighbors . I've got flashlights and extra batteries, I've got water, got food and extra snacks, got extra drinks too especially pineapple juice, especially if I get too hot and feel like I can't breathe, the last one I went through wasn't as bad power was only out for 12 hours, I am praying for everyone right now in Florida. Had I lived in a mobile home I would have definitely evacuated no question,

Governor Desantis, ... Get the gasoline tankers to the gasoline stations. Evacuation stalls without gasoline. Water, gasoline, food ! Very important. Gasoline now ! The Texas government let us down during hurricane Rita in 2005. They just sat back and watched. We sat in a giant evacuation traffic jam, for 27 hours ! Nothing moving much. We could get out of our vehicles and stand around, or walk a bit. But it's miserable to be stuck that long in those conditions.

I live in Vegas....a pretty windy place where we get 50 to 70 mph winds several times throughout the year... They are talking about cat 3 and 4 ect. And sustained wind speeds... So much gets lost in translation here..... ...GUST... So here in Vegas we will be getting 45 mph winds all day.....somewhat intense but not much to worry about... But every 10-15 minutes you might get a gust of 57-67 mph for 30 seconds...... Theses gust are what rocks your house and messes stuff up in the back yard... These gust dont get talked about enough....Its strange because they are the true horror of this aproaching system. Lets say it hits Florida as a 120 mph cat 3....Yes thats devastating... BUT 160 MPH 30 SECOND GUST WILL BE WHAT RIPS YOUR ROOF OFF I have family on the east coast center of Florida who seem to think the cat 1 or cat 2 winds will "only" be 70-100 mph and they can bunker down in home and safely ride it out... They seem unaware that the gust hitting their house could be 100-130 mph..... A force more frigtening than they could ever imagine...Even 70 mph gust here in Vegas are terrifying with the sounds of things smacking into your home and high pitched screaming wine of the wind... I cant even fathom 100 plus speeds

What an uninformed comment. Everything will NOT be ok, unless you are talking about the area where YOU live and depending on where that is located it likely still won't be "ok." You sound like one of those people discounting the threat then asking first responders to risk their lives plucking you off of your roof as the waters rise. 🤦

@@sitori663 yooo im sorry i meant not as bad as predicted yesterday, i heard Cat 5 and we're hopin for Cat 3 now with a lesser Surge and hopefully outside of Tampa. In addition the evacuation that has already occured and pre-emptive emergency service rerouting etc could mean a more organised resuce effort than i was fearing. Sorry its been a long 48hrs of prep so just trying to be optimistic, and wishing the best of luck to everyone who will be impacted. I have already lost the original family home and another one so i understand the pain of surviving and rebuilding, best of luck to everyone 🙏🏾

PBS has a special. The warmer ocean water intensifies the storm. However, the rising ocean temp does not necessarily increase frequency. There are more variables there. It does increase intensity. We also magnify damage by building on barrier islands or “over paving”. In the 1980s Reagan, Thatcher did ads encouraging people to mitigate ozone damaging behavior. It was successful. Too bad, we no longer have that sense of community.

@joshd3192 we have literally been tracking weatherincludung hurricanes since late 1800. You can look up a chart of annual weather phenomenon. Do so and you'll see there has been an uptick in hurricanes and a huge spike in their intensity. Furthermore you can do the same with global temp all the way down to the local temp. All has increased drastically since we started recording it in the 1800s

Before I begin my actual comment, I would like to apologize in advance for my inadequate level of English proficiency. I am not a native speaker of the world's current lingua franca which unfortunately leads to me making numerous embarrassing mistakes being made whenever I attempt to communicate using this language. Whenever I am reminded of how l lack the ability to convey my thoughts in an eloquent manner, I feel as though I have committed a cardinal sin, as though every English teacher in the world is simultaneously shaking their head and sighing due to how utterly disappointed they are at me. Although I know that saying sorry to those of you who are reading my comment will not change the fact that I fail miserably to write and speak perfect English, I am writing this as a way to deter a certain type of people who cannot stand poor English (Also known informally as Grammar Nazis) from mocking me by posting unwanted and unnecessary comments detailing my every blunder although you may be angry or made at me. so please don't.
