The trajectory of this one coming from the left is a lot different compared to previous ones I've seen where it comes from the Atlantic. My Next door Neighbor came back because he moved to his current home in Port Charlotte. It's going to be rough on the west coast I would think, be safe!

I have family in Florida that's within the main destructive path of this catastrophic hurricane. They've already dealt with hurricane Helene and now they gotta deal with this storm with more destruction on the way. Period it did happen exists. So we just have to deal with it. Many Hurricanes have gotten near this strength in the 1970's and 80's

This is extremely dangerous, and Milton is about 12 to 16 hours out to make landfall, the threats are major hurricane force winds, flooding, significant storm surge, significant power outages, and tornadoes

Can someone explain why surge is expected to the north, like Tampa and northward? If the storm is to the south, then winds would be west, which is offshore. I would expect reverse surge. I remember a prior hurricane that missed south/east actually completely draining Tampa Bay.
