Remember the TWC guy fighting"high winds" while people in the background were walking normally? I guess that the wet grass was harder to maintain his balance than being on a concrete sidewalk.

so thats what early fighter and bomber pilots would look like without protective gear in ww1 and early ww2

I highly doubt ww1 planes got anywhere close to 150mph, maybe in dives but they sit pretty low in the cockpit so most of their body is shielded from the full force

Interesting cause recently I saw a guy from the weather channel standing in what he said was 140mph from Helene. They need to bring him here so can see what 140mph winds really are.

Now let's make it realistic in hurricane winds, throw a handful of rocks, mulch and random small debris in there. 😂😂 As I'm sitting here waiting for Hurricane Ian to approach my house in the next few hours.

Nigel 900 I'm trying to figure out the "science" of predicting a hurricane when you wait until an few hours before it hits before you make the call as to where it's going. It's like making a bet on a horse race and changing the bet as the race progresses.
@nigel9007 жыл бұрын
Certainly, forecasting isn't a precise science and trying to accurately predict the outcome of a hurricane is hit and miss at best. My better point was that most forecasting today has been relegated to computer modeling, rather than a trained eye in the field. I think one, compliments the other. I challenge you to look at any of these computer modeled forecasts today, they change every 30 minutes to an hour. That's not forecasting. Hell.. I can look out the window and tell you what it will do in the next hour, with fairly good results. Thanks for the response friend.
