I would opt for Plan B. Our power might be out, flooded stores will be cleaning, linemen and FEMA will be in the area = chaos. Tornado damage most likely. Locals will be grumpy from having to do work and home clean up and sleeping without A/C and 89 degrees at midnight 🥵. I’m speaking from experience as a resident.

So Mitch cool story for weather nerds. Francine hit a couple weeks ago. The northern side was a ton of rain and wind. Then the eye hit us in Larose and everyone thought the storm was over. Then the southern side hit and you had 100mph winds with not a drop of rain for 2 hours. It was so weird. So dry air got into the backside and there was not a drop of rain but the winds were howling super loud.

These models are going to go west, east, back to west etc until we have a system to actually plot. Seems like the Euro AI has been pretty good this year. Will be interesting if that trend continues

In the direct path again, but not concerned. Have been is so many hurricane warnings here, even this year already, and it never materializes in my location on the Gulf directly south of Tallahassee. Actually, there's never been Hurricane conditions reported here, a few gusts around 74mph, but never in history has there been bonafide hurricane conditions recorded here. Heck, we don't even get the heavy bands to materialize here.

The biggest question is the next couple days, because if this system slow rolls us, then the northern cold front may lose blocking power and totally change the track. Any forecast there?

How far away from landfall does a Cat 3 hurricane cause extensive damage. Say going off this latest model it makes landfall around Pensacola, FL. We are in Fairhope, AL east side of Mobile Bay. Will we see extensive damage?

Euro is always weird with tropical systems 5-10 days out when it’s closer within 3 days it’s better . I guess by time the other models figured it out 😂 . Euro has some upper level low over the US grab a stronger system and dissect it like nooo if anything the tropical systems would eat up that weak disturbance .

Looking at the ensembles I'm getting the feeling that this might do a 2005 Wilma or 2022 Ian scenario. Especially if it can consolidate and if the trough and steering currents are in place it may not make the Northern/panhandle of Florida/Alabama landfall. The GFS has been shifting further south and east . Unless it's just me.

What is the theory of prayer here? God is omniscient and omnipotent but he might decide to do something different than his plan if you pray But wouldnt he already know ahead of time that you were going to do that and thus it was already his plan? Amd is a thing more likely to happen if more people pray? Is there any evidence Christians have better outcomes for all this prayer? Does it bother anyone that the idea of prayer is much older than Christianity or Judaism such that pagans somehow discovered prayer fitst but just got the "prayer to who" part wrong? Makes ine think that Christianity just developed from earlier religions and is thus just as much a human artifact.
