@@KardavoxAcademy you dont have to Like it. Germans hate Schlager except for when they are absolutely hammered
@Smido832 жыл бұрын
Look... if you are not german, its really hard to understand how brilliant this song actually is. Let me try to explain it this way... There is litterally nothing that Hip Hop Heads, Raver, Stoner, Classic lovers, or Metalheads agree on musically in Germany, except one thing... *SCHLAGER IS THE WORST!* Its the cheapest, most generic and fake music that can be produced. Also 95% of all "artists" use autotune in the studio and playback on stage... like (for example) Mia Julia. So I have the upmost respect for her to take part in this utter destrucktion of "Tzeh gscherman Schlacher"! (in my best fake german accent from american movies) To my personal shame I have to admit that I know some "Schlagerfans" and I am even friends with some of them... So I had to send them this video... and I am pretty sure they hate me now! 😂

There is a Finnish variant of Schlager called "iskelmä", which basically is a literal translation and it more or less sounds the same, except naturally it's more moody and doesn't have as much dance vibes. But the parody aspect had me laughing and nearly rolling over the floor due to it also being over the top. This is Schlager for people who hate Schlager.

like someone else said, in Poland we have the same kind of music, it's called Disco Polo and it has the same reception as Schlager (but it's awesome to get really drunk to during open-air parties 😂). it seems that's a thing for many European countries, they each have their own "Schlager" and understood the beauty of Hurrikan immediately (I was delighted seeing "Disco Polo" brutally murdered).

HURRIKAN Lyrics - Electric Callboy Wenn ich all’ die Bilder seh’ (When I see all the pictures) Dann denk’ ich nur an dich (All I can think of is you) Wie du gestern auf mir saßt (How you sat on me yesterday) Gott, war das widerlich (God, it was disgusting) Dein Geruch der noch an mir klebt (The smell of you is still on me) Der ist jetzt überall (It's everywhere now) Und schon klingelt mein Telefon (And already my phone is ringing) Du willst mich noch einmal (You want me again) Du bist wie ein Hurricane (You're like a hurricane) Der sich durch mein Leben zieht (That runs through my life) Ohne Rast und Gefühl (Without rest or feeling) Ziehst du mich immer wieder zu dir (You keep pulling me back to you) Du bist wie ein Hurricane (You're like a hurricane) Der sich durch mein Leben zieht (That moves through my life) Und du weißt ganz genau (And you know very well) Ich kann dir niemals wieder entkomm’ (I can never escape you again) Friss mich auf ! (Eat me up!) She’s hungry, she’s horny, she’s longing for flesh Oh honey, I’m ready to die Oh, you feast on my blood, my bones, my guts Choke! She’s the love of my life! I love that you are in general general about your reactions. To many reactors "fake" liking something because its the liking that people wants to see. to dislike a song often makes the viewer unhappy. So most reactors either fake it even if they do not like it ( And it often shows ) or they do not upload the video ( Guess that is fair ) However point is, I get its about views and growing, but I like when reactors are able to admit this is not for them, but still react and be respectful. So yes the song changed and you got on to it. and you even say you where not sure if you wanted to upload it. But for me I really gain respect for reactors who react to a song and respectfully say this was not for them. Music is personal. like food it does not have to be bad for you personally not liking it. so why are people so afraid of saying they don't like a song. I don't get it, I really respect the honesty of people who dare upload a video where they are not into it.

For all the international viewers who don't realy know what this is all about, here is some context and background information: The first minute of this song is a mockery of "German Schlager": Thie is a very easy digestable, non komplex easy listening music. The Lyrics in this inferior genre a usualy crap about love, party, socialising and other meaningless topics. it is some sort of throw awy music, VERY HUGE in germany and all over the radio, especially on those stations that adress the somewhat elderly audience. Then there is a very special niché, a subgenre of Schlager, that is called "Ballermann Schlager". It is "Schlager turned to 11", with an over sexualised context and mainly made to sing along during some excessive partying. Mia Julia (the woman in the sailors dress) had a career in this special niché after she dropped out of her main buisiness, wich was beeing a p0rn actress. A couple of month ago EC tried to compete in the European Song Contest (ESC) formaly know as the "Grand prix de l'eurovision de la chanson" with chanson beeing the french word for "Schlager", so even if it changed a little, the ESC is a "Schlager contest". They participated with "pump it" and didn't make it to final rounds and were dropped for no given reason, but rumors have it they were not "radio friendly" enough. So now, full circle, they mock german schlager with a over the top stereotypical "schlager". You'll notice the irony if you pay attention to the lyrics, but other than that its spot on german schlager and could easily top the schlager charts. And then the second part wich is of course a kick in the balls for all the hippocrits in the radio buisiness.. Deathcore (b)eats schlager anytime...
