Husaberg 70deg engine valve adjustment - 2010 FX450 but applies to FE 390 450 & 570 as well

I've just checked the valves on my 570 for the third time at 484 hours and still in spec from when I adjusted them at 200 hrs. I have the rad fan fitted and you cannot get the tank off without first removing at least the RH rad. Just another 10 mins work 👍I also have a manual cam chain tensioner (Dave Hopkins) after problems early on with the OEM hydraulic unit.

That slight tick you might hear could be the cam chain slapping the guide rails. Sometimes it's easy to confuse cam chain slap with valve noise. The cam chain tensioner on these bikes tend to lose force pressure over time. DirtTricks makes a good replacement tensioner that usually fixes the problem.

Thanks that's very likely what's going on. The bike has a manual chain tension adjuster so I might try tightening the tensioner

No hour meter but i might guess around 150

Ok. Thats not too bad. My 390 has around 200 still haven't had to adjust shims yet. These engines are really durable.
