Napoleon the third, upon Prussia accepting the Frankfurt parliament and uniting most of northern Germany decided to dissolve the confederation of the rhine. In the aftermath two new countries are formed. The kingdom of the rhine, lead by Westphalia. And the south German confederation, which in under control of the bavarians. After austrias collapse in the Hungarian revolution. Austria is incorporated into the south German confederation.

The issue with this ending is the relations between Germany and the Allies, regardless of timeline Germany would hold resentment towards them. Germany was a threat to both the East and to the West because it acted as a third party on the world stage not affiliated with either "side" as much as it was its own force.
