In my family, lil’ smokies in a crockpot always get a sauce made of half grape jelly and half chili sauce(chili sauce is like cocktail sauce without horseradish and a bit more spicy).

Looks like everyone has a version of the lil' smokies &/or meatballs in a crock-pot. I married into the Midwest (husband's family has been there since 1850's). I'm Southern; I had to get that recipe from his mother. I'd never even heard of the smokies/meatball concoction before I got married. BTW: I've been married over 28 yrs now & lived in the Midwest for most of that time. So I get ALL the jokes & references to Midwest living. Love all the content y'all produce!

Janey’s husband probably is right about the bad drivers. I grew up in New York City/ Long Island. I’m 68. I’ve lived in Wisconsin since 1982. I think one reason you have bad drivers in the Midwest is people are too polite to blow their horn at you when you don’t know what you’re doing. In New York City, if you don’t know how to drive people are going to correct you by blowing their horn at you. When I first learned to drive, I was on I 95 in Connecticut and a Connecticut State trooper stopped me. He asked me if I knew why I got stopped and I said “No I was going the speed limit.” And he said “Exactly, get the hell out of the left lane. The left lane is for passing only. If you’re not passing get in the right lane.” In Wisconsin I frequently get stuck behind someone in the left lane going the same speed as the right lane, 5 miles under the speed limit. Bad driver habits: 1. Camping in the left lane. 2. Not advancing into the intersection when making a left, until the light turns red, so only 1 car gets to turn. 3. Waiting to turn left, with your wheels turned. If you get rear-ended, you will be thrown into opposing traffic. Don’t start turning your wheels till you’re making the turn. 4. Not turn signaling BEFORE you brake. Yeah, I figured something was up when you slowed down to 15, and then signaled. 5. Looking at your phone, down on your lap. Killer on the road. My kids bitch about me not Zipper merging. If they want me to Zipper merge, they should have a public education campaign. I’m not going to try to force everyone else into doing it.
