Fun fact about the locusts is their nullmesh object in the WAD is called “fish”. This strongly hints that it’s a modified piranha fish object from Tomb Raider 3 with the glitch that makes them fly in that game exploited for an actual flying enemy.

Oh my goodness my anxiety when Alf simply refused to crouch and stay still 😂 RE: Lara’s characterisation, it may be a little underwritten compared to today’s games but there’s a surprising amount of depth to Lara’s character through line from 4 to 6. She’s fed up, she’s on edge, she’s abrasive but can also be much more human and kind. Like she was tired of raiding and seeking other connections but doesn’t have the social pleasantries to find it.

I had no idea there was a clue to the coffin puzzle in the 20 odd years I played this far myself. I just flipped all 4 switches out of instinct following the numbers and that works fine so I thought that was what you were meant to do. I didn’t know it was supposed to be an actual puzzle nor did I ever see the hints on top of the coffins nor high on the wall where i never looked. I interpreted the numbers as “flip these switches in sequence”.

Lara is generally more caring when she finds someone injured, like here, or Yarofev, or the Aussie soldier in South Pacific. I guess... pretend to be hurt if you want to be safe from Lara? Kind of like pretending to be dead in front of a bear XD I think the locusts also can be dealt with by saving and reloading, but I'm not sure now. Also it's a bit more cheat-y than crouching :D Haha and Alfredo just using shotgun at everything XD Hope he'll have enough non-pistol ammo for Giza, that's when the meanies come. It's funny actually, there aren't many strong enemies in Cairo - at least when it comes to killable ones. I never thought about that... Maybe the realization will make me like Cairo more? XD

5:00 That's why i like this Lara at the start of 4 to the end of 6, she is always so on edge, i suspect she show some respect to this men since he is hurt and lost a lot of his men in battle, Lara in the end is not a bad person, not too much xD

If this was a Kojima game, the Colonel would allready have died waiting for Alfredo by the time it takes to get Lara to the truck! Every time Alfredo died I can hear him saying 'hurry' and picture him saying 'bugger', and dropping dead lmao.

Fabulous gameplay as always! One idea: seeing that Lara auto-heals when crossing level entrances, I wonder if in the Remaster's New Game + mode this could be the only way to heal (no pick-up medipacks).

Not a huge fan of this part of the game. Something to endure rather than enjoy. But Alfredo is doing really well. Look forward to the next video. And those locusts are a pain in the ass they really are.

The voice pitch change at 8:04 with the crocodile jump scare had be howling, i had to skip back and repeat it a few times 🤭 meanwhile Alfredo didn't even react lmao. Pretty sure there near the end wasn't that the locusts didn't go away, the beast just kept sending new ones, so i guess in that case is better to just rush otherwise you will be crouching forever. I LOOOVE the game but a bit of shit design there having a "hazard" which you can't really do much other than take damage until it goes.
